I think a third sniper would be good. slow rate of fire high damage. Like a bolt action rifle? But instead of a bolt theres something else? maybe one shot?

Didn’t know the Beam Rifle was in Halo 4?
Well there would be at least 2 snipers. there always has been since halo 2. And halo hasn’t had a slow firing sniper yet.
Slow rate of fire: Already done in Human Sniper.
High power: Already done in Human Sniper.
Plus, a gauss one would defeat the purpose of a sniper: Pick off enemy without them knowing.
Also, its impossible. Gauss cannons are basically magnets (superconductive coils) pushing and pulling at the perfect time to make it fly past the speed of sound.
The Sonicboom will basically let everyone know you are there, and then, the gauss cannon needs a much more heavier barrel and -Yoink-.
I would just like to see a Gauss hog in regular matchmaking.

All the snipers are slow firing. Human sniper needs a small cooldown before firing, and the beam rifle can fire 2 in a row quickly, then needing a very big cooldown, while firing single shots basically made it similar to a human sniper. Then, the focus rifle was like a weak long range laser, but very powerful locations makes it amazing. It can kill in 2 seconds, and then overheats for a lot longer if you heat it too much.
Halo has alot of slow firing snipers-and they are all high powered.
Also, no fact has been shown saying the beam rifle is in Halo 4.
You mean like this one from Fallout? It’s one shot per mag and deals extreme damage because it shoots high-velocity plasma projectiles.
Halo does have Gauss Sniper Rifle: M99 Special Application Scoped Rifle, also referred to as the M99 Stanchion Gauss Rifle or simply the Stanchion, was a United Nations Space Command anti-material rifle.

But it’s to big to be hand held 
Halo 4 is the start for a new Halo trilogy. So it might have new weapons like Gauss weaponry which would include a sniper rifle.

I am GUESSING theres 2 snipers in Halo 4. In don’t really know.
Halo snipers still fire at a decent rate, but yeah they are slow. But for Halo they do all right damage for a sniper I reckon. we have shields so snipers cant kill us instantly except for a head shot. But what about and INSTANT kill sniper with say 10 sec cool down time? I dunno, just putting my thoughts on the table.
Also don’t restrict youre self to real life. its a game, if they wanted to put in a silent guass sniper they could. (but they probabley wont, just an example)

Basically the Oneshot in Gears of War 3. That would be an affective weapon against vehicles.
