Add follow command

Hi fellow players

I would love to add a follow command. (Maybe it could be just hold X when in advanced controls over the unit you want your units to follow)

It is a simple one that is in most RTS games. It’s very useful to have a number of your units follow an allies units. For example you could have your wolverines follow around an allies tanks to protect them from air while you lead another force on a flank or do something else important without worrying that your units aren’t just sitting there.

What does everyone think? Give me some examples how this would help you.

Cheers

I want the old hold x ability like in halo wars 1. The units would follow the points that you placed it consecutively so that a units could scout the right places and not take short cuts into enemy fire. Or make a unit patrol or make a unit attack another unit then another without you having to be present. It makes it much easier to micromanage your army and also means that planning ahead is rewarded.

You can still do this. It’s hold right trigger + X.

I think I like holding X better, but it makes sense given they are using the holding right trigger for extra commands now. You can create/use control groups with right trigger + control pad. I think people are missing a lot of the controls since they locked two of the three tutorials that presumably have base building in them.

There is no follow though, which I don’t think is critical to have but would be nice. I used it some in Starcraft 2 so I could go back and build with my army following a teammate.

Good to know. Thank you for the reminder.

How do you do it on PC?

Just shift click like most other RTS.
