Firefight in Halo:Reach had it. Why can’t Spartan Ops have it? Player Traits, Enemy Traits, Game Loadouts, Skulls, all that.
What I want to be able to do is blow through all 50 episodes of Spartan Ops with a Light Rifle and a Sticky Detonator, with Infinite Ammo and Invincibility turned on, on Legendary with Tough Luck, Catch, Thunderstorm, and a custom skull that makes enemies deaf, blind, and trigger happy if I like. Understand where I’m coming from?
Hell, let’s make an achievement out of it, shall we?
The Vidmaster’s Challenge: Nutcase (0g)
Complete all 50 episodes of Spartan Ops, Season 1 using only a Light Rifle and a Sticky Detonator, with Infinite Ammo and Invincibility turned on, on Legendary with Tough Luck, Catch, Thunderstorm, and a custom skull that makes enemies deaf, blind, and trigger happy.
Adding custom options to Spartan Ops would actually make it worth playing. As it is, I just don’t bother. It’s so boring.
As much as I’d want that, I’m not too sure that 343i is even capable of doing that…
However, BS Angel did comment on a thread saying that they were currently developing new ways to improve the replayability of Spartan Ops… So there may be an update in the future.
I’d be all for adding Skulls like Catch and Iron and Thunderstorm to SpartanOps, but not Custom Game options.

Yeah, I saw that. That’s why I posted this; Custom Game options could go a long way to helping.

Uh… why? The custom game options should be there for those who want them, don’t you think? If you don’t want them (for whatever reason) all you would have to do is not use them.

Well… In my honest opinion, Spartan Ops seems a lot like an extension to the campaign, so in my humble opinion it just doesn’t seem right.
I just don’t think there should be an option to make the player immune to damage or unable to cause damage
I’m just one of many though, so it doesn’t matter what I think ^^ In any case, I’d be happy with any sort of addition to Spartan Ops.
This would be awesome.
Spartan Ops was a good idea IMO, but it is and will always be a mistake to sacrifice fun gameplay for story. I feel like Spartan Ops could have been much better if they made it more like an arcade game like Firefight than a second Campaign.
I think that Spartan Ops tried to be both, which is why it wasn’t as successful as it could have been.
Add Custom Game options (or Custom Skulls, like in Halo: Reach), and make it available to people who don’t have Gold. Because… well, come on. Was that really neccesary? I’m sorry I can’t pay $60 per year for XBox Live.

It’s actually not that much to ask… but I do agree that Spartan Ops should’ve been available offline from launch. I mean, if you paid full price for Halo 4 and your Xbox 360 isn’t even connected to the internet, all you have is Campaign.
That’s how it was for me, when I first bought Halo 3; I had no Xbox Live PERIOD, it wasn’t until a couple of years later that I finally got my console online.
When will this game mode die?!
To be serious, I honestly don’t care what happens to it.
If it flourishes, that’s fine. If it fails, that’s fine. Either way, I’m never playing it again.
P.s. when will we see unique skulls like in Halo 2? The same skull set for 4 games… that’s lame.

If you have Halo CE Anniversary there’s custom skulls in that. One that gives you infinite ammo, and another that massively boosts the destructive power of explosives such as rockets and grenades (Much suicides and betrayals in campaign from this!)

Hopefully not for a very, very, very long time. ^^

She said they were looking into various ways, not developing, big difference.
Nothing might come of it, sadly

Better than nothing. I wonder if they’ve got anything planned for Spartan Ops at all? A lot of people are asking about Season 2, others making suggestions for improvements…
Skulls? Sure, custom game options like reach firefight? No. Tuned weapons and checkpoints? Yes.
My only thing is to be able to treat this like the campaign and add in skulls. Ive always wanted to put in IWHBYD and Grunt Birthday Party in Spartan Ops. That would be the best and i’d have to agree with the person above me. The only problem i have with giving people unlimited ammo and say idk power weapons is the fact that there are commendations for killing Covenant and Promethean enemies. Dont get me wrong i was hopping that the Bandana Skull would make a return in Halo 4 but sadly it didnt happen.
No. Spartan Ops is a part of the story. Firefight was for fun. But to be honost, I didn’t really like custom firefight. I liked ODST’s a bit better.
