Add all legacy halo maps in multiplayer

I think we all can agree the core game play mechanics in Infinite are great. This is the closest gameplay to Halo 3 we will ever get!

The community forge maps and the custom browser was the first time in awhile I played for hours. The dev created maps are not fun, they feel so claustrophobic. It affects vehicle game play as well, as it’s way to easy to get boarded by players using the scorpion, getting stuck by stickies in the warthog, and the banshee has almost no room to fly around it feels like.

The legacy Halo maps (Reach-3) play insanely fun with the Infinite mechanics! I love how the community also took unique twist on classic maps such as Banished Narrows. It’s an old map but feels so fresh!! I can see why 343 would be hesitant to add them to the multiplayer rotation as they have not been play tested enough. But guess what!! They have been play tested millions on times already during their games respect eras.

This would be a great way to celebrate a legacy Halo titles anniversary as well. Example: 343 could add a bunch of “reskinned” Halo 2 maps on its birthday. (Fingers still crossed for a full fledged H3 anniversary with blur graphics though)

TLDR; Add forge legacy halo maps to multiplayer and take inspiration from old Halo maps when creating new maps.

I would definitely buy a legacy playlist map pack!

Empyrean really does play different. It’s possibly nostalgia bias, but I’ve been enjoying the hell out of it. And I was never a huge fan of The Pit to begin with. (Ngl, Empyrean is my favorite iteration of that map. No contest.)

I agree, I would like to see all of the legacy maps make a comeback. Not only that, but new and interesting aesthetic variants (such as Empyrean) can and should be mixed into the rotation together such that even if you play Lockout back to back, the aesthetic might at least be different. Idk, sounds fresh to me.

Before launch, one if the main reasons I thought Infinite was going to have trouble topping MCC for a long time is the fact that MCC’s matchmaking content is just completely unmatched by any other game. It has what, like 130 official maps if you count every title and every player count?

I completely agree OP, that Infinite should get as many legacy maps forged up as quickly as possible. If we also got a match making composer, Infinite’s MP would start to get close to matching what MCC and H5 offer

Another great map called Salvation (A h1 map remake of Damnation) was added, which further proves my point.

343 is missing out on HUGE opportunities here. Most filled lobbies I see are old halo maps with 12+ players. You want you game mode that would cater to the “broad audience”? Well that’s it right there, old halo maps cramped with players that’s insanely fast paced. No need to make the whole game for the broader audience, just some modes.
