Add a little challenge to spartan ops.

I have mixed opinions on Spartan ops or Spops as I like to call it.

I like the premise - a weekly smorgasbord of gameplay delivered every week to play through with friends. A fresh set of chapters is something, I think, even the most critical players look forward to playing deep down.

However, it lacks the intensity and replay value of firefight and as result has become something to play and then discard like a musical -Yoink!-.

To tackle this I’d like to see one tiny update to the formula; one that I’m sure has been asked for time and time again. The implementation of shared lives akin to firefight. Battling through a chapter on legendary would feel a lot more intense knowing you’re ten enemies away from finishing while on your last remaining life. Imaging you and three friends setting out on a Spops mission. You’ve got your beers, you’ve got your pizzas and you’ve got one life between you. Death means the end. Think of the comradely feeling you’d archive from whatching you buddies back and the horror as one of the team members is taken out only to make the mission that bit harder to complete.

So there you have it. That’s what I think would make the experience better. Spops is a brave idea and its good to see 343 take the plunge on their first halo attempt. But honestly I believe that this minor update could lift the concept to a little more critical acclaim then it’s generated up until now.

Peace.
