Given that there is constant posts on all the Halo forums about whether Halo has been “ruined” with the additions of sprint, thrusters, ground pound, etc., why not create a game mode that emulates the classic Halo (1-3) gameplay. Disable sprint, thrusters, hover, clamber, etc., and fill the map list with classic maps remakes from the forge creators in the community. While some would no doubt still complain, it would give more variety and allow for a more fair discussion as to whether the next Halo games should use some of the newer Spartan abilities. The mode could start off as a weekend playlist, and maybe become a permanent playlist if the desire arises for it. While I am personally of the opinion that they are a good addition and a natural evolution of the Halo gameplay mechanics, reverting back to a time without the Spartan abilities certainly couldn’t hurt the game modes or its discussion.
you can make a classic playlist but these sprinthaters will never stop crying^^
Sorry man but that’s not going happen!
Given that we’ve seen community-instigated changes before, I don’t think such a playlist would be too far off. As a thought, though I’m sure the gametype’s already been made, here’s some possible ways to make the gametype:
- Increase jump height 10-25% - Turn off hover, sprint, ground pound; clamber, assassinations, and ADS (aim down sights) could be left, or also turned off. - Maps include current remakes or new remakes to account for changes to the spartan abilities. - limit weaponry to only classic weapons, or include new weapons depending on the map for gameplay balance.
