ADD A DRIVEABLE SCARAB!

I want one so bad. A vehicle on its four that we can drive!

Please, keep this thread alive. Let 343i know we want this!

Edit: this is no longer a petition. petitions suck

Halo 4 needs every vehicle in it from ALL past halo games including HW’s

Scarabs and cookies FTW

Would it be flippable?

Petitions are against the rules. Try reposting this in the polling booth. It will be easier to see who does and doesn’t from there too.

i dont think we will see the Covenant for a while.

also petitions are against the Forum Rules. So you should probably change your title before this gets locked.

It wouldn’t work on the 360 because of the crappy framerate, so no.

Not with that attitude it won’t

nice change.

How would it work? Only in a campaign mission? or do you mean in Forge? I would rather them work on the more important things than a drivable scarab

Not that it’s going to happen, but lets break Halo gameplay even more shall we. Drivable Scarabs would be so ridiculously over-powered, beyond comprehension. So over-powered that “OP” deserves to be spelt out just to show how over-powered it is.

I doubt we’ll ever get a drivable a Scarab. A Locust seems more likely

But, either one would require the Covenant being in the game. So, only time can tell…

To be honest, it isn’t overpowered.

It’s beam has to travel, so does its anti air turret shots.

it moves very slowly, and it will take luck to splatter someone with it (smashing them with a leg)

We need to stop posting stuff like “NO SPRINT, BRING BACK BR, FIRST PERSON IN VEHICLES!” and start thinking big like this. Cmon now.

Well no sprint or AA’s would actually be helpful to game play, the BR is opinionated and whatever happens with it may effect the whole game, and honestly first person in vehicles and a controllable scarab doesn’t really seem like a game breaker to me. Thats my opinion though.

I’d rather 343i focus more on getting Halo out of the gutter that Bungie left the series in after Reach. But if they decided to add a controllable scarab that wasn’t completely horrible or OP, I wouldn’t really mind it. Not my cup of tea though.

To be honest as much as I think everyone wants to be able to operate a Scarab I don’t think we will be able to operate one due to how they were designed and the size of the maps, perhaps being able to operate the turret on the back yes that would work.
But if invasion returns along with Elites then maybe an invasion game mode similar to the encounter’s you have with a Scarab’s in Halo 3. Spartans have Mongooses, Warthog’s and an Air vehicle along with a Rocket launchers and an Assault Rifle. Elites are on board the Scarab and have to defend it, simple for the Elites and they can only use the turret on the Scarabs back. And maybe have AI to aid both teams.

The Scarab is essentially a massive hunter, as it’s comprised of the same worm colonies just on a larger scale. To have a Scarab that is completely controllable by a driver would probably make it too overpowered. It should probably have somewhat of an AI at work with it, so the “driver” is essentially a handler of a beast, similar to how humans use horses or oxen.

To use the Scarab’s cannon it should probably control similar to the target designator, marking a position or target and the Scarab would charge and fire on it’s own based on that.

Movement should probably also work in a similar fashion, marking a location on the map and the Scarab would move to that point on it’s own. This would allow 343 to program certain pathing into maps with the Scarab to keep it in the play space and to try and prevent it from getting stuck places like if it was completely user control. Of course, having some AI programing to it, the Scarab should try to step on enemies that get underneath it on it’s own, just to try and prevent enemy players from hiding out underneath the Scarab out of the drivers line of sight.

Those are just my suggestions of they do include it anyways.

I’d rather man the main gun and leave the driving to scripting (not AI. I’m not one to trust those anymore). If anything, AI should be restricted to the plasma cannons and AA gun.

But full control would be nice. Just as long as the AI only get less than 5% of operation. I don’t want kill stealing AI.

I think Elephants and Pelicans are more important than a scarab to Drive/Fly.
