Actual size of Update?

Does anyone know how big today’s update was? Or was supposed to be? Mine’s about 42 GB, funnily enough

14GB

got hit with the 42 GB update aswell.

16 GB… is this a bug? :open_mouth:

Remember this update contains the 4k assets as well, so it’s probably bigger than previous ones.

Edit: Lies and slander, I am incorrect.

Sorry, I just did some research and found out I was incorrect. If you don’t own a X1X you won’t get the 4k assets

I don’t actually know. If I was to guess Arena support will be a bit of it, additionally most of the download is new code replacing bad code. So it’s not like we’re adding 16 GB, it’s more like we’re adding 2 and replacing 14 GB

Edit: Forgot to mention that this updated also added in crossplay, so that could be some of it.

I see… guess i have to wait

^ Pretty much this.

When looking at the size of a download for an update that will almost never be the total size that’s being added to your installation. You’ll download the full 16GB, but as mentioned a good chunk of that is usually just replacing existing files. The end result is usually just adding an extra gig or 2 on to the total size. You can check this by comparing file size of your installation before and after applying an update
