ACTUAL HALO COMMUNITY

343 needs to do something in halo 5 that either incentivizes or forces people to go to gamechat. One major reason why halo 3 was so successful was because there was no party chat for a good bit of it’s existence. Being in gamechat made it easier for people to set up full custom game lobbies as well as make friends. There’s always a mute button for those annoying players so that’s not an issue. The point is to go back to the days where communities developed in-game. By making it easier for people to make friends, you are making it more likely for players to have friends on the game when they boot up their xbox.

1 idea, and this one’s kinda dumb, but the only one i have so far Is to have a gamechat achievement where you have to be in gamechat for 25 (not actually sure on the amount of time) hours.

Also, gamechat should be required in breakout anyways so that you can’t help your team when you are spectating.

At least Breakout should be forced gamechat

Good job reviving your own post

I only agree about Breakout.

thanks! you really mean that?

They can take an idea from Call of Duty (don’t hate yet) and have playlists that are required gamechat (Breakout, Assault, Ranked Slayer, etc.), and have playlists where you can be in party chat.

Yeah cod doesn’t make you go gamechat anymore for search and destroy and now all I hear is my friends cheating when I join the party

As long as they get people to talk so that custom game lobbies can be formed like they used to be. Halo 3 days it was like 1000 games of ranked/social then 3000 games of customs. That means something doesn’t it?

Nope will not use gamechat. It cannot be forced

Agreed. Yes, I could mute players but I’ve found in the past that I spend more time muting people than I do actually playing so if I do play online I won’t be using gamechat

Party Chat in breakout = cheating (they could make party chat mute your teammates in the party when they die)

The mute button is about half a second . If you don’t want to be social, then you don’t have to be. It’s understandable as there are some annoying yoink people you can run into.

I agree, i want whatever makes ppl chat more

Encourage others to not be abusive -Yoinks!- will help with that

Never will if you don’t even make a start, but its those people that have destroyed teamwork/chatting on XBox Live

^^^^^^^^^^^^^¡¡¡¡¡!!!

Absolutely not. There is no benefit in forcing people to use gamechat, because people who don’t want to talk are not going to no matter what - so now it just becomes a deliberate waste of peoples’ time when you have to mute everyone before every game when you’re not playing with friends.

I have never, ever, had a positive experience when gamechat has been on. It’s either shrieking/cursing eleven year olds, or bro-dudes who throw around the most disgusting and vile comments I’ve ever heard. Language barriers are an issue as well. Also as a female gamer, myself and my other female friends who like to play are often verbally abused strictly based on our gender. The online gaming community is hardly a good, or even safe, place to “make friends”. So let people who want to take that chance do it voluntarily. There’s no good reason to take away that choice from other people who may not feel comfortable with being forced to talk with total (and potentially hostile) strangers. It’s already incredibly easy to invite someone to your lobby or party after you’ve talked to them if you choose to have gamechat on. Forcing it on people won’t make things any easier; as I said before, it would just make things more of a hassle for those who have to be hanging on the mute option the entire time they want to play.

I endured the worst of XBL and Halo wearing my mic and it was worth it.

The friends made, the great experiences had, more games won. Far better experiences than I’ve ever had sitting alone shooting coloured polygons with no personality.

As someone who has always been socially awkward in real life situations, and has to force myself to converse in everyday scenerios. I will tell you this. Not talking to people during routine activities is Ike travelling the world while not looking up from your phone or feet. You’re missing so much just because you looked up a couple of times when you first started and saw nothing but cars and houses.

People who don’t like gamechat are probably the gimps that can’t take banter and get upset too easily

The Internet has always been like this, with people abusing other people because of stupid crap. If you can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
