I have googled this like crazy and can’t find a straight answer. I have noticed that sometimes the enemy will have camo but wont show up at all on the radar, not even the several blue dots. I went into a custom game and tested it and on the enemies radar the blue dots showed up when in camo, even when crouched and perfectly still. Is active camo bugged atm where sometimes you wont show up at all or am I missing something? I know blue dots are supposed to show up on the enemies radar but I’ll be walking around and randomly get assassinated by someone when there was nothing on my radar. I am talking about big team if that matters.
I really don’t think Camo should have a radar jammer at all. And now that it has blue dots even makes it more useless. All you really have to do is line up your radar with the middle of the floating dots and then use common sense. Same for Reach. Really ruins camo.
Even as someone who uses camo a lot and gets quite a few kills with it, I’m not a huge fan. But I’m not sure about this no blue dots thing, what exploit is this? o.o I don’t really have too much of a problem with getting caught while using camo, but I know how to detect it with… well… again… common sense. It just really makes it a pain in the -Yoink-.
I’ve been making threads about this for over a week and all that happened was people came in saying “hurr, you’re just mad you got owned. Camo is easy to counter.”. Nooow that others are starting to notice that active camo is bs, here come the threads.
I think it’s a bug. I don’t know of any tactical or support upgrade that modifies a specific armor ability. Camo and radar jammer go hand in hand as far as I can tell but I’ve come across players clearly camouflaged without jamming.
I have also seen multiple examples of camo without the radar jammer dots. As well as a few of my friends that I play with regularly. And ALSO, as others have mentioned, cannot seem to find any answers online.
Someone above mentioned it being on youtube, but I searched and couldn’t find anything on it.
This is DEFINITELY something 343 needs to either look into or provide some answers because there are quite a few people who are seeing this but there don’t seem to be any answers…
I have noticed this as well lately and now have been searching for answers, have not found any answers either… The only thing I have noticed is when your using active camo and are nearing the end of your armor ability the last 2 to 3 seconds your radar blips dissipate and you get maybe 2 seconds with camo active and no radar blips…
Wetworks defiantly isn’t suppose to add this feature to the specialization perk. It has been happening to a lot of players. I’ve seen it for myself.
I for one use Active Camo unanimously and can say that this incident has never bared any sort of advantage over the other player. I get my jammer dots like everyone else.
I believe the issue is more of a connection problem. Maybe a little bit of lag in a connection and players fail to send/receive appropriate radar indications.
Should be safe to say this will be fixed sometime in the near future.
I actually learned how this happens playing in matchmaking recently. You don’t give out radar jam, but a single blue dot when stationary, rumored only when stealth mod is active. I’ve never tested all the ifs and ands, but I use mobility, stealth and camo. after i go completely invisible nobody ever knows I’m there and usually never see me coming
On a side note your(own/user of camo’s) radar will still be jammed by your camo so someone doing the same thing you are could easily sneak up on you under your own jam
