Active Camo should not be an Armor Ability

It gets so annoying to get killed by someone who is crouching behind a box while you’re in the middle of a fight with someone else. What’s worse is that most of these guys just use Active Camo to camp for Ordinance rewards. I think that Active Camo should be removed as an Armor Ability, and it should become an Ordinance reward along with Overshield, Speed Boost, and Damage Boost. It would be like the Camo in Halo 2 and Halo 3, where you were invisible until it ran out, even if you were moving. Since it would be an Ordinance, it won’t be as obnoxious to deal with since you have to earn it instead of starting with it right away. What are your thoughts? Do you think Active Camo should be moved to Ordinance?

i absolutely agree.

Learn to use Promethean Vision.

I agree but in all honesty

Competitive Customs are better than Matchmaking

Match Making is garbage compared to a good clean match against your friends.

I’d rather use Jetpack or Thruster Pack, but it looks like I’ll have to use Promethean Vision.

Disagree nuff said

Indeed.

Agreed you shouldn’t be able to spawn with invisibility.

Agree

It’s only annoying in Infinity Slayer in my opinion, and only because I have no patience for endless lack of movement; I became bored after a couple of hours doing this in the previous Halo games within a day.

It’s certainly a legitimate, albeit mouth-breather strategy, that diminishes game quality. It nearly ruined Team Slayer in Reach for a period of months and it’s already far worse on Halo 4.

I’d just stick to other playlists so when a low player-count consistently appears on the IS playlist, 343 may be more inclined to resolve the encouragement of silliness in a meaningful way.

Again, just my opinion.

First off, why should I change my entire playing habit for one damn AA. You dont see people modify their playstyle according to Jet pack, or Hlight shield or any of the other ones. Invis is too damn good, especially with the lack of grenades in halo 4, Why?

RUn around a bend, crouch, go invis. With no grenades you wont be flushed out and if your opponent is dumb enough to chase hes will die.

Secondly, Promethean wont see it unless it is directly infront of them and even then its a faint outline. Capming galore is still allowed.

Thirdly, it should be nerfed in some way to make it equal to the other AAs and some other AAs need to be buffed to equalize everything.

If Camo wasn’t really buggy right now it wouldn’t be quite so bad.

They need to fix the way Camo doesn’t always cause ghosts on radar and they seriously need to consider making the camo take longer to fade into invisibility.

Yeah, it’s definitely at it’s worst in Infinity Slayer. When I get frustrated with the Active Camo campers, I’ll usually go to Slayer Pro or something else. But moving Active Camo to Ordinance would pretty much solve this problem. I just don’t know why 343 decided to keep Camo as an Armor Ability, it got a ton of complaints in Reach.

It’s fine the way it is. The little blue dots everywhere, the fact that he can’t move much, and he isn’t perfectly invisible all make for a pretty balanced AA.

As long as Armor Lock isn’t available I don’t care what they give us.

Armor Lock got a Lot of comlpaints not camo

Active Camo is H4s armor lock.

Overpowered to -Yoink-, annoying as -Yoink-. Slows down the entire game, and the radar jammer unlike in Reach doesn’t allow you to triangulate the position of the player on your HUD.

Also, the camo even when crouched is much much harder to see than when crouched on Reach, on my screen it’s like 100% invisibility.

Definitely support it being an ordinance drop rather than an AA.

I don’t have a problem with it. Learning to deal with camo is a skill.

Increase your awareness. I have a good idea of where all the enemies are, and where my allies are so I usually don’t get assassinated or snuck up on, unless my ally is doing a really bad job covering his side. I also use hologram, which is better than active camo as it flushes everyone out.

I agree with you 100% op.
