Active Camo is useless

Please for the love of god bring back the radar jammer on the motion tracker for Active Camo. In Halo Reach it nerfed the user so they didn’t have a motion tracker, but also gave extra functionality to active camo. I used to support my team by scrambling the enemy radar during invasion so they couldn’t tell how many people were attacking. At this point because the radar jamming shows up as blue, it pretty much shows up as a “I’m right here. Kill me.” sign which makes camo useless at anything but sniping, Which just encourages people to sit back and snipe with it instead of infiltrating. Also making camo even more useless is the existence of Promethean Vision. Promethean Vision is a fine counter, if it wasn’t for the fact that camo is so useless it doesn’t need a counter. If it had the radar jammer again, then promethean vision would actually balance things out rather than overwhelming it.

Plus the fact that you can still freaking glitch it 8 months from release, so no radar jammer shows up so you have no downside to the Camo.

Camo is for noobs! Making the whole radar useless because of one noob that uses camo was ridiculous in reach.
The radar shows, that there is a guy with camo near you, and that is great, because you are warned but still cant see him. It works perfect.

> Camo is for noobs! Making the whole radar useless because of one noob that uses camo was ridiculous in reach.
> The radar shows, that there is a guy with camo near you, and that is great, because you are warned but still cant see him. It works perfect.

Except you can still see him because the cloaking barely hides you at all unless you are perfectly still and the blue parts of the radar are so localized that any grenade will instantly reveal them. The radar jamming aspect supported team play, which is inherently a good thing. Plus if you get good at it you can till see which ones are actual players because players do not move like the fake signals do in Reach.

Does being in active camo get drained when you shoot?

Because I find it would be nice if per shot it was drained so it was more difficult to be sat in AC all the time.

Either way I’ll stick with my thruster pack and good eye sight as AC users don’t stay hidden from me.

No one should EVER be able to spawn with camo. It’s easy to balance, make it a map pickup then it can be very effective without being overpowered since you have to fight for it/find it on the map.

It’s the most OP AA in the game. 343i should nerf it again.

Teach me master.

AC should never have been put in loadouts…
couple AC with AA and you have people who spend an entire 45 seconds of a game uncloaked camping with the DMR so they can have a sniper rifle dropped at their feet…

This…this my friends is just one of the many…many things fundamentally wrong with Halo 4

For matchmaking the list is actually fairly small
Perks
Personal Ordinance
Boltshot
Plasma pistol and plasma grenades (for this one I honestly think its just the Grenades that are OP to spawn with)
Broken AAs

Agreed, however if you look at that list those are the things that the game is built around which is why I said many things

oh and add weapon and vehicle spawn timers removal of sprint removal of instant respawn reduction in shield recharge time random global ordnance and return to set weapon timers (I’ve noticed that this has started to make a comeback happily) to that list too

Perks should be removed (IMO) as they immediately unbalance the gameplay

Personal Ordnance removed for the same reason or turned into a even level tier based system that rewards everyone the same ordnance based on the number of points they accumulate (ie 70pts grenade resupply shotgun speedboost 140pts oversheild grenade resupply rocket launcher 210pts damage boost sniper file grenade resupply) something along those lines that way there is at least some skill involved in obtaining ordnance maybe even tie ordnance into the spree system (ie killing spree gets tier 1 killing frenzy gets tier 2 running riot tier 3 etc etc)

Boltshot should be moved to map pick up its a 1sk for sweet zombie jesus sakes

PP and PG should be returned to map pick ups to force players (especially in BtB) to move around the map and co-ordinate to take down vehicles you know like in H2 and H3

AA’s should be removed from personal loadouts and placed as map pick ups which can be used for the duration of that persons life cycle and expire one that person dies and set on respawn timers, that being said I still feel that jetpack and AC should be tweaked still AC needs a longer cooldown time and Jetpack needs to drain faster (those are just my opinions)

Just my thoughts and opinions, but I know there are many people out there that probably feel the same

AC is the most flawed of the armor abilities. It didn’t help that the game shipped with a major glitch in how camo works. It never used to bother me but lately I’ve been running into more camouflaged campers and no early warning on my radar. Most frustrating.

You know what? I think load outs should have only had weapons, sidearms, and some armor abilities. Active camo should have been an ordinance powerup, similar to Halos 1, 2, and 3.

Ever heard of paragraphs?

Armor Abilities still wouldn’t work because you’d have them for the rest of that life. The only reason power-ups and Equipment worked in Halo 3 was because they were a map pickup that you could only use once. Armor Abilities should be one-time only like Equipment or none at all.

You realize that’s about the size of a normal paragraph, right? It’s not that hard to read.

Nice post. It would probably be better if they just make radar jammer its own Armor Ability and get rid of Camo. Camo causes way too many problems, it’s better suited as an Equipment or a Power Up.

Sentences are supposed to be separated into paragraphs based on topic or point, not size. This keeps the post organized, making it easy to read.

They released Radar Jammer as an Equipment pickup in Halo 3. It was quickly removed from matchmaking because it was useless.

Wrong. It was removed from matchmaking because players used its explosion after it was shot to reach places on maps they weren’t supposed to. It had nothing to do with it sucking, get your facts straight.

Still, you can’t tell exactly where an invisible guy is on your radar.
