I’m not saying its overpowered, But its not much fun playing complex or ragnarok against a full team that camps a mile away using active camo, crouching and camping the entire game. It’s kind of like noob tubes in call of duty, no one wants to have to resort to it but once somebody does its an all out Dbag-fest for the rest of the game.
It’s great fun for all concerned when you’re playing on the smaller maps and the Camo user’s proactive, like me. IE. using it as a spot defense against Forerunner Vision or to -Yoink- with people’s radar and put them in the very wrong mindset for what they should be expecting (ie. not a crazy guy with a needler running out at them very obviously.)
More so I think the problem lies with long range combat just generally being everything but fun in this game (and come to think of it in every Halo game. We’re just dealing with the CE Pistol Mk VI after all.) But I think you’re right in at least that camo doesn’t help the long range situation.
I still can’t believe Camo is something you can spawn with. I face palm every time I see it.
I would say PV is much worse, i have never had a problem with active camo.
Thats All i do in btb is camo dmr. its really cheap but its the only way to get kills.
Active Camo is the only armor ability in this game that I hate.
î use camo.
i use camo and sniper.
i use camo and kill someone from behind, silent and deadly. u don´t see may, your fault.
i use camo and camp and steal kills.
i use camo to help my team, protect from behind.
THATS MY STYLE TO FIGHT.
i think camo is ok, if u can use it…
I will never understand why they ever thought it was a good idea. It’s truly mind blowing.
How is is overpowered? If someone shoots you you can see them. If you move with camo on a red dot shows up in the middle of the blue ones and people know exactly where you are, exactly as if you weren’t using camo. The range of the radar jammer is so small that in the case that the person isn’t moving (so no red dot) you can immediately tell where they are because there’s only like 1 or 2 corners they could be hiding behind in such a small area.
Camo isn’t overpowered, its been nerfed since Reach, and all you need is a tiny bit of situational awareness instead of relying on your radar so much.
i don’t like the duds on the radar they are far to localized
The fact that you can spawn with a specific ability and then reuse it endlessly over and over has been driving me crazy since Reach. Anything spammed becomes annoying. Especially when it’s the ability to SEE THROUGH WALLS or BECOME INVISIBLE. Wtf were they thinking? Halo 3 had it right. You pick up such powerups off the map where everyone has an equal shot at them and you can only use them once so you have to make it count. Camo should be tweaked to always be fully cloaked when moving, and then made into a weapon drop a la damage boost and overshields.
all AA’s suck.
> Thats All i do in btb is camo dmr. its really cheap but its the only way to get kills.
Active camo and Promethean vision plus any one shot/easy kill weapon are painful. Active camo is mainly just an issue right now because of how powerful default weapons are, this is especially clear with dmr on big open maps and the boltshot on maps with lots of buildings and hallways or cover.
Another problem seems to be that there is a majority of people that are okay with it, these are the people that always go for the maps that favor these combos and this show with certain maps being super popular even though they lack anything to make them interesting.
I actually like active camo I’ve always loved the ability but I’ve also used it more aggressively to attack bases, flags, and other objectives. Now that I’m forced to just find a rock crouch and camo it is a little annoying.
My favorite combo in objective matches used to be active camo and shotgun, now I kinda shudder every time I get Ragnarok.
> all AA’s suck.
hey…that’s my line, joking but the thruster pack in campaign is good, make the recharge longer and it would work
Also in reach camo wasn’t a huge problem since a lot of people preferred jetpacks or shields. The dmr fire rate also felt slower and because of that it was easier to get away (that’s how it felt for me anyway.) Camo was a great tool against power weapon and vehicle campers, so many times I’d see some -Yoink- running for the fuel rod gun over and over and I’d just move around the sides of the map and just focus down him and his buddies who would do the same. It was also real fun to use against crappy clans who would just zerg and hope for a spawn camp only to get flanked by me and one or two other people grabbing snipers and rockets.
Camo is not the issue, it’s the “combination” of camo, powerful weapons and bad map choice.
camo isn’t that bad. This is coming from a guy who used camo and then converted to jetpack for his main loadout. I know the guy using camo is nearby when he activates his camo. The guy usually waits to assassinate you most of the times when you look away.
It takes a special kind of an a-hole to Camo camp in multiplayer, and personally it’s an instant negative player review after the game. Hope it gets moved to ordenance where it belongs with the other power-ups, but if not badkids gonna badkid.
