Active Camo (again)

I played a game recently in which one of the opposition went 11 for 0. He killed me a couple of times, and it was obvious he was using the genius invisible sniper miles away tactic. I had a go at flanking him, but flanking the entire enemy team solo isn’t really a great life choice. He sniped me again, so I just left him be.

I had a look at the replay to see exactly what the guy did all game. He joined in play, then went and crouched invisible near the sniper spawn, then spent the rest of the game crouched in either the back of his base or in the middle of some rocks, single shotting people before moving to his other camp. At no point did anyone even see him to shoot him. He spent 90% of the game invisible on both radar and on screen.

We won the game, so this isn’t a moan about losing or winning. I just don’t see how having an invisible enemy is fun or fair.

I highly doubt 343 will make a change in Halo 4, but I hope they do something about this for the next game. Remove camo from loadouts at least, or make it deactivate when scoped or crouched maybe? As things stand getting killed by a guy you cannot see from miles away is senseless.

its here, some people like it, so itll stay forever.

Saw some guy the other day with 30,000 kills and 2000 deaths. wanna take a gander as to his tactic? idk how anyone can enjoy spending half the game sitting still, accomplishing absolutely nothign, but Bungie and 343 have made this a viable tactic so that anyone and their grandma can play halo and enjoy it. Gotta sell those copies. This is what happens when you guys think that K/D ratios mean anything at all.

You are complaining about nothing. You should be thrilled that someone can effectively snipe on your map.

Now that is how you play snipers. Too many people play SWAT when they are in a sniper game.

There is nothing senseless about it. This is Halo.

Active Camo has a purpose - to allow the slow, stalking play style on a bright ambiance map. Bright ambiance is used to encourage fast movement amongst the player. AC allows for the sniper stalker play style to coexist on the same map. This gives more options, more play style, and increases the fun factor.

Also, K/D does have one meaning within any Slayer game - it reflects how many points you took off your opponent versus how many you gave them. 11-0 is a solid record, even if it isn’t more points. Hick, I would be happy to have 7-0 and tell my team mates they gave too many points up.

I guess you can be happy that he wasn’t good enough to get a Perfection.

There are things that could be done to Camo that would fix it as an AA and make it alot less powerful. Shots breaking the camo, recharge time increase. But I don’t see it happening.

I don’t think active camo is a problem at all, I rarely have trouble killing people who use it. If it really bothers you that much just use promethian vision to find out where he is and kill him.

I always felt a positive K/D coupled with an average of 140 was always healthy in BTB.

11-0 for sniper… 110 points minimum… Still not enough points to win BTB.

8 people could post a similar line and they would lose…

A crouched player cant avoid being blown up by grenade spam.

I would not mind a new lighting system where the scope of the rifle would give away the snipers location…

Perhaps in Halo 5…

Camo causes way too many problems and frustrations for Halo and shouldnt be in loadouts. As a drop, fine. But if they can’t fix it this game… it better be FAR less of a problem or nonexistent for the next Halo. For our sanity, please. I hate camo, and for the most part it’s users.

with the stealth mod PV is irrelevant.

He probably spawn kills in Grifball. That’s my guess.

I would have no issues whatsoever with camo being a drop. At least then it promotes some kind of play pre-camo.

And whilst using camo for sneaking up on people can get annoying, I understand its use in the game. Camo for long range sniping, however, is entirely unfair.

Camo is over used. 343 should nerf active camo or at least shorten the camouflage time.

Active camo should not be a load-out. It should be picked up on the map like overshield… Should have stayed that way since H3. IMHO
