A nice quality of life option while waiting in the lobby would be to put players in mini games like many action sack games or Super Fiesta.
Overwatch does this and it’s a fun way to kill time while waiting for a game to start.
I would not like it. I check (players and stats) the last game between matches.

Yeah I’d imagine a battle royale style lobby (if any, with SSDs will lobbies even last long enough for something like that?) where you can shoot each other and mess around or just be afk and look at stats.
Hell no, I want to rest and chill my hands and calm a bit down between rounds.
