Pretty much how I felt.
The core gameplay is good BUT: The level design is boring, encounters feel all the same, it’s no longer a military sci fi shooter it’s just a sci fi shooter now, characters felt underdeveloped, story felt very shallow.
It’s fun to shoot at guys and grapple around the world but…that’s it.

Its like this for everything though. That’s how the world works. It would be neat if devs value some random guy that played like 10 matches as the Youtuber that bought every skin, has been making videos about their game for years, has millions of viewers/fans, etc.
Huge sign of arrogance. Lots of stuff is pretty apparent with minimal time put in, but to say that Youtubers/Streamers can’t offer some kind of unique or interesting perspective is not accurate. Just going back to Act Man, dude made one video where he was criticizing Doom’s MP, said that its customization was identical to Halo 5’s and when you look at the footage he makes a compelling argument lol.

Ultimately, people may simply wanna know if it’s worth 60 bucks. Games have to be bought, and people who are new to the franchise rely solely on reviews to get an inside look, and hopefully some real gameplay footage instead of some IGN goofing around and bad recycled gameplay.
I’ve watched the review, it has many valid points, but it doesn’t really aim to drive players away. And to be honest, if people weren’t already invested in the Halo series at this stage, Infinite is kind of a good jumping on point. The only reason people hated H5 was because how much it detached itself from previous Halos with both story and gameplay, but all that does not matter much to a new player hopping into the franchise.
I’ve never played like say, Resident Evil games for example, but I wouldn’t take a review seriously if what I see on screen doesn’t look too bad cos I have nothing to compare it to.

Bungie boomers are the ones that defend Halo Reach to this day. They are similar to actual boomers with their talking points

Hey off question but is Halo down.
I booted it up and tried to get into a bot match couldn’t connect, tried other game modes and same.thing problem with dedicated server.
This is right after playing Breakpoint.
Well let’s be honest reach does have. A better progression system than Infinite

Interesting how you narrowed it down to only what you wanted to see and not what was actually said. I also like how you made it to be that I was referring to all streamers being a certain way when it is clear as day that I showed otherwise.
Creating your own narrative doesn’t work for me
I don’t agree with Actman said about campaign. Its not that great like what he said, in fact they are way inferior to Ce,2,3 and ODST.
The stuttering and Fps drop, omg. Pathetic state it was released in. In fact my ticket is still open its been about 20 days now. 343/MS is just beating a dead horse to me.
Hi, Actman’s advertising account.
if that wasn’t your point it just means your point is less consistent overall.
Anyway I find it interesting how your response has no real point and doesn’t really go anywhere. Its almost like you are just trolling and not rwanting real discussions.
I’ve seen enough. See you in 2023 lol.

This is the dumbest reply I have ever read. Talk about being a troll
Do yourself a favor and just move on, you’re not helping yourself in anyway.

I absolutely understand the whole trend thing. For example, there are so many different space themed sci fi shows/games. All of them have different ways, some realistic and others just for cool cgi. Well when Call of Duty Infinite Warfare came out, it trying the capital ship warfare in space theme, its trailer was one of the most disliked videos on youtube. It then triggered a bunch of people to make videos criticizing the realism of the game, because the popular opinion is that the game is trash, so making a video trashing its scientific accuracy would bring in more viewers, and thus more money for the creator.
I have learned to view things my own way. In other games, there could be a weapon or something that everyone thinks is trash. I will not agree or disagree until I try it myself. The pulse carbine is one of the most hated weapons in Infinite, but I tried it myself, and I found that it isnt bad it just has a very niche use case. The Infinite story is very random in terms of what fans think about it. Personally I really like it. It gave me Halo ODST vibes where when the main character wakes up, everything has already happened. It reminds me of when I am playing a MMO, I wake up one morning and I log in to the aftermath of some huge war that went down while I was asleep.
My opinion, dont let a review or a public opinion force you to like or hate something. Try it yourself.

What did he say? I’m only aware of him pulling a Ricegum with the review copies in 2021. He felt entitled to one because of smaller channels getting them.
He does contradict himself when he says he liked the more personal moments with Brohammer and the Weapon but also wants it to be a military shooter. That sort of story lends itself to having a smaller and more intimate story. Them being on their own is a pivotal plot point that puts the emphasis on the Chief turning the tide. You’re Doomguy.
Plus a main reason he is on his own is so he’s the one making the decision regarding keeping the Weapon. He was ordered to ensure Cortana and the Weapon were destroyed. It is a very liberal interpretation of those orders that he’s going with. If you had a formal command structure that conflict would either happen too early or they would be compelled to hand wave it. This makes it the Chiefs decision to keep the Weapon rather than the whims of his superior officers.
To be frank in Halo 4 I would have said they brought the Infinity in too early. All this stuff is probably going to be filtered back in as the story progresses.
One thing I will agree on about his review is the lack of military moments.
Thing is Infinite as we have it is just chapter one. They can add additional chapters to show more military moments and bigger conflicts, we already know infinite will have story DLC so they can do things like.
https://forums.halowaypoint.com/t/story-dlc-idea-banished-heart/493093
The idea above show the military moments with out breaking their flow by introducing old characters and their fight taking the story in and having chief weave through different sections of the ring helping rebuild the UNSC each DLC showing a more organized force with larger attacks and better equipment.
Eventually showing full on warzones (if the game can handle it.)

Potentially something akin to a Diamond Dogs scenario(MGSV The Phantom Pain), reduced to ruin, defeated, only to after the “legend returns” start rebuilding and reunifying to battle against the enemy threat so to speak. (just without the infighting and secret war undertones, unless a bit of ONI influence is injected in.)
I do agree with Actman that theres a narrative dissonance with the main story and the open world activities, the story acts like its just you, bro hammer and the weapon against the world, not acknowledging the growing UNSC forces done by your hands, it creates a disconnect between the two; which is a shame.
And I think I understand why that dissonance is there.
They have to write the story for if Chief doesn’t save a single marine or take a single FoB past the first one. making it hard to write in story changes for if you took everything back.
IT could be done but it would have added a lot to the dev time so they went with a one on one for the start, from here on though they should really focus on the build up of the UNSC.
With in game lines for if you saved everyone in the first chapter… yeah going to call the current game the first chapter
and given that according to Schrier’s report, dev time was not well managed for Infinite, which is why some parts don’t feel as connective as others throughout all of Halo Infinite.
and I do agree, Infinite is essentially act 1, should call it “Act 1: Hope” which means “Act 2: Endless”
