I haven’t bought H5 but I saw a playthrough of it and while it was bad I think 343 have actually themselves up for something pretty cool.
Alright so it starts off on Sanghelios. All the technology except the pelican from H5 is destroyed. Though suddenly the Infinity appears in orbit. Blue team,Osiris,Arbiter & co.,and Halsey get on a pelican. Though they are stopped by an AA gun that is stopping them from advancing.The AA gun is at the bottom of a mountain. So Spartans do what Spartans do and they pull a H5 and jump out the pelican and slide down the mountain to take out the AA gun. But it’s an actual gameplay segment not a dumb cutscene. So you take down the AA gun and fly up to the infinity and escape completely forgetting about the awful planet that is Sanghelios. Birthed in glory and died from bad writing by Reed the weed.
Now MC,Locke,Arbiter,and Buck are formed into one team and we never see the other characters again because they are boring. Lasky orders them on a mission to retrieve a power source from a planet called [I don’t -Yoinking!- know] because the Infinity has nowhere to resupply thanks to -Yoink!- I mean Cortana.
However during the mission debriefing the ship is attacked by the Wehrmacht I mean the Prometheans and I’m I the only one that thinks it would be cool if in Promethean combat the prometheans were really weak. Like shoot at their arm and it falls off. However they deal a large amount of damage. Also to gain ammo they to consume metal. (MC would just have the gun do IDK). Thus making it where both you and the enemy are taking parts of the map and have to decide if they want to remove that price of cover or if they want more ammo/damage. It just seems cool. So after a bunch of fighting you arrive to the ship called [I haven’t decide on any names ok] and head of to your mission with the Infinity still in danger but Lasky reminds that they have commander boring I mean Commander Palmer to finish off the prometheans.
So they head off to the planet and when they arrive they discover that building which contains the power source is currently under occupation and is being besieged. They assault the base and a bunch of cool shooty stuff happens. As they fight off what appears to be a Brute pack tribe and Cortana’s Covenant battling. They enter the top floor of the building to find the warden eternal. The Warden begins talking to them about how the power source they were looking for never existed and that he just needed a human to help interact with the forerunner tech. So he captures Locke because we need Buck for comedy and forced him to activate some forerunner tech and a massive earthquake begins. Warden teleports away because forerunners are op valve pls fix.
You have a big escape scene and you fly up to the frigate as you watch the planet completely collapse. The planet’s remaining pieces float away and reveals a halo ring. Specifically installation 07!
So that was cringy as -Yoink- and I don’t even know why I made this but if you have suggestions please comment. Or don’t. Whatever. Who cares.
