Achillies Armor too hard to aquire?

Hey guys!

So I was reading on how to get the Achillies Armor set and saw that your whole company needs to get commendations. So I thought “Oh that shouldn’t be too hard to get!”. Then I saw that there is like, a bugllion different ones and all of them have 5 levels and require an absurd amount of effort and time and kills to accomplish. My company almost always plays Breakout and we were disappointed to find this out because now we have to play game types we don’t want to play to get it. I mean our whole company needs to get 1500 from the graves just to get level 1 in that branch? Screw that!

I don’t think it is too hard. We are on level 2 of all of the commendations.

Well all we like to play is Breakout and we HAVE to play Warzone to get most of these. We hate Warzone!

Well hold on a minute. There is effort, but this is talking about really high levels. The killing enemy spartans achievement alone just to complete level 3 requires 300,000 kills. With 100 active members that means you are each responsible for 30,000 kills a piece. I’ve been playing since launch and have right around 8,000. I’m barely a quarter o the way there three months in.

Now. I get that this needs to be something special. And we’ve pulled this off before. Something that is attainable yet needs effort. Something along the lines of getting Recon Armor in Halo 3. The achievements where hard, but not astronomical. Those who really wanted it could manage to get it with the right group. So I personally would rather see something along those lines.

at 300,000 kills each player (assuming 100 players) needs 3,000*** not 30,000. Depending on what mode you play 3,000 is not an unearthly amount. I could probably get 3,000 in 2-3 weeks playing the way i do now.

But more importantly, 343i made this armor harder to get (in my opinion) than any other there has been so far. Halo 3 had some difficult ones that were fun to try to do. This one promotes community effort and encourages people to use Waypoint. I’m glad it will be difficult to get because only people who have played for a long time and people who worked hard for it will have the armor, and it will probably always be somewhat rare. I honestly wish they had more extremely difficult rather than luck based armors in Halo games.

I enjoy the luck of the REQ system but believe there should be a handful of harder to get armors that you have to do specific tasks for rather than get from luck or just playing a lot.

I agree it is too hard to acquire as it requires you to use the internet to make/join a Spartan Company, then requires that Spartan Company to do a team effort to unlock the armor.
But I don’t think it should be easy to get.

The whole issue people are having with armor being to available to everyone lays within the whole randomized variable of the REQ system.
