It’s funny how it takes more skill to get Helioskrill, but the Achilles is going to be the one that next to no-one sees. I like that they connected the armor to the spartan companies and make you earn it, but getting lv 5 in all of them is stupid. It should’t be that difficult to get.
Here’s my proposed change. Get to level 2 for the armor. Get to level 3 for the helmet. Why those? Simple, it should still take work to get there, but it shouldn’t take ages. This armor isn’t that special that Helioskrill is more common than it.
Maybe if they want to add some armor down the road that is given to companies that reach level 5 sure, but take steps in. Don’t go straight from Pure RNG to it’s going to cost you an arm and a leg.
My thoughts is RNG is a terrible idea for customization unlocks. The only exception being only for certain unlocks. But the entire game is RNG calculated, which means everything I want the most would be the last things I unlocked. And prior to any of the added content from updates, that would’ve taken 500+ hours of non-stop gameplay, not including load times and singleplayer in a best case scenario. It’s ridiculous.
Why not have different versions of the Achilles armor and attach lower to higher levels of commendations to each one. That way, small companies can at least have a chance of getting it. I think the Atlas is a lower commendation armor set, but all the talk is about the Achilles set.
Ive got to say helioskrill doesn’t take all that much to unlock and i want more armours like achilles so that people can spend more time trying to unlock armour. I hope they add an armour for the other 2 types of spartan company commendations being 3 and 5 too, so that people actually play all types of gamemodes with their spartan company, because the other commendations are a lot harder and take a lot more time than the kill cones, and it gives more reason to play breakout or strongholds etc.
I’m currently working on Helioskrill and only had a hard time with CE and Halo 2 legendary but just finished them both off a few minutes ago and only have Halo 4 legendary now which is cake. The Achilles requirements don’t really worry me as our Spartan Company already has most of the commendations at level 2 so just a bit more grinding and should be good there.
It’s actually not that hard to get Achilles I think. It’s not level 5 in all commendations, it’s only level 5 in the company kill commendations which cuts the work most think it takes by 67%.
I’m part of a company that formed the day after that announcement, with the goal specifically to get the Achilles armor. We’re already almost done with level 1 on all the kill commendations, and the update hasn’t even dropped yet, and it’s been less than a week.
Something like this that takes so long to get, is very gratifying once you actually do, and is totally worth the dedication.

id rather have mark vi (gen 1) over anything in the game anyways, all black with the dauntless visor looks good, you look similar to halo 3s master cheif and you look the least plasticy\cartoony.
Achilles, not difficult really. if you have a compnay that actually just plays you will get it in time. Perfect example, my company was actively going for it, but none of us really had to go too far out of our way. we all just played together normally, or me specifically i always played what i enjoyed. We have both armor and helmet.
Helioskrill. Yeah, not difficult at all really. just play hce-4 on legendary. so maybe a good solid week/weekend?
