I’m about 4 req cards away from having all of the (req pack obtainable) armor and helmets in Halo 5. It as a long grind, but something’s bothering me.
I’m never going to truly have 100% of the armors and helmets without Achilles. I’m not in an active Spartan Company, but am considering trying to join another. Before I do that though, is it feasible for the average company to get Achilles before Halo: Infinite comes out? I’m confident that Halo 5’s population will decrease when it releases, malong it harder to get all of the commendations. Just wanted to hear people’s thoughts before I start grinding.
Before Infinite? Unless you join a company that’s only a few commendations away from the armor and helmet, then no.
The main issue you’ll run into with trying to get Achilles at this point is the activity level of companies. You’re not going to get it by joining or starting a new company. But even the companies that are fairly close probably don’t have many active members anymore, and so won’t get it. For example, my company has 10/31 commendations complete for the helmet and 100/100 members, yet I don’t expect it to get the helmet before Infinite. The reason is simply that at this point in H5’s life, not that many people are motivated to actually do the grinding that’s necessary.
As was stated already, you will need to find a company actively working towards it. If you find a company you are interested in, be sure to check when they were formed, which can be found on the company profile page. If the company is only a few commendations away, but they were formed 4 years ago, they probably won’t finish before Infinite.

You can try to do like I did and check the recruiting forums for company’s looking for active players who are close. I did that for both armor and helmet. The company I got the armor with after that players started dropping out of it like flies. Then I noticed the few left still playing were always in customs which doesn’t help Achilles. So I left and a couple of weeks later found another company close to the helmet and helped pushed them over the peak for it.
The average spartan company will not reach all commendations before Halo Infinite. The spartan company Legendary Achilles usually unlocks the armor and the helmet less than a year after starting their companies. If you really want achilles I suggest you message leadership and ask for a link to a company that doesn’t have it yet. I must warn you that I heard you to reach certain goals everyday so if you have time to play Halo for 5 hours a day that is the place for you.
Sadly the grind for Achilles ended years ago. There are still spartan companies up trying to obtain the armor but they are nowhere near as good as the first spartan company to get it, Whiskey. A lot of Spartan Companies who got it first obtained it really fast because they had really good players who were willing to grind for the armor and exploit the game in order to obtain it as fast as humanly possible. Now Spartan Companies aren’t really filled with Onyx and Champion players, they just kind of have the bottom skill level of players which makes the grind even harder. You can’t go into a warzone match with 12 bottom tier spartans and expect to win against other teams who are just statistically better and have been playing for longer.
The spartan company that I was in was the first few spartan companies who got the Helmet and they were really good.
With this though there are constantly spartan companies who do grind out Achilles, you can join ones that are close to it. Good Luck.
