Why design an armor that looks exactly like a Spartan (not Halo Spartans, I am talking about OG Spartans from back in the old days) yet call it Achilles? Achilles was a Myrmidon.
Now there’s always the topic that the actual Achilles wore that kind of armor, which very closely resembles Spartan armor. But, why make that kind of armor, which looks very similar to old Spartans, for a game about SPARTAN super soldiers? Why not name it after a famous Spartan like Leonidas , Cynisca, or Agis instead of a Myrmidon?

This. Plus, both Achilles and Spartans were ancient Greek warriors and their armor was similar in nature…so why not.

Why are you wearing it if you do not like it?

The Spartans were not the only Greeks to use that. That helmet style was common for all hoplites in all Greek city-states.
As for why choosing the name Achilles over Leonidas or another Spartan, Achilles had the benefit of being half-divine, and also the benefit of near-invulnerability, and he was known for his incredible battle-lust, making him a likely more attractive choice for the namesake of the armor.
They really should have given us Several Armor Sets to choose from than just Achilles. Because when lots of companies eventually get the armor are there just going to be hoards of people with Achilles armor on? I think most people would want to be a little more unique. I can see it getting old quick once it’s popularly worn.
