Achievement Playlist

Ok so, I put some thought into this, and I think it would be a great idea to place an Achievement playlist in the list of available hoppers.

As the playlists have evolved and changed their rotation percentages, it has become increasingly difficult to land in the right map/gametype to unlock an achievement, and even then, you will have to unlock it in that one game.

I think that a playlist should be introduced that focuses entirely on Achievement-based maps/gametypes to help players snag the achievements before Halo 4 comes out.

I think that the playlist should have a max party size of 4, but run the same way as Action Sack in that it includes both FFA and Team gametypes. Here is an example:

Alpha Zombies on Condemned/Anniversary Maps
Headhunter on Anniversary Maps
Stockpile on [a bunch of maps]
One Flag CTF on Anniversary maps

This would help players that have a hard time waiting for maps such as Condemned to come up in the Living Dead playlist, or players who want Headhunter on Anniversary maps, yet have issues with the gametype getting vetoed in Anniversary FFA. Stockpile has similar issues in the Team Objective playlist.

This idea just popped into my head last night after spending 3 hours searching Living Dead playlist trying to come across Condemned. I even deleted my Anniversary and Noble map packs to try to improve my chances of having Condemned pop up. No luck.

EDIT:
Alternatively, I think it would be a good idea to have the difficult to come by achievements appears as a choice in the first selection screen all of the time. Meaning if you go into FFA Anniversary, you will ALWAYS see a Headhunter option. If you go into Living Dead, you will ALWAYS see a Condemned option. If you go into Team Objective, you will ALWAYS see a Stockpile option.

Playlists can not have both a FFA & Team configuration, it is either one or the other.

As for the suggestion, the MM Systems Team is looking to remove playlists to ensure people can find games faster when Reach is no longer the main game (Post Halo 4 release) so introducing new playlists is an extremely low possibility.

I would just say just make it so you can set a search restriction so you can only find people with DLC. Rather then playing Living Dead for about 2 months and have the DLC maps pop up twice.

Oh, for some reason I thought Action Sack had both FFA and team gametypes. I’d just really like it if before Halo 4 came out and Halo Reach was left, they could introduce some way to help players in the future attain the Reach achievements that they may need, similar to the 7 on the 7th playlist in Halo 3.

I wish they would alter the initial maps to include one selection that is geared towards a hard-to-get achievement to increase the chances. For instance, I would prefer to have Condemned as a permanent initial choice in the Living Dead playlist, followed by 2 other options, and the None Of The Above option. The same could be done with Stockpile in Team Objective playlist, and also throwing in Headhunter in the Anniversary FFA playlist.

Similar to the search for skill, good connection and language?

It would require UI changes to add the new option, meaning another Title Update, which 343i isn’t looking to do with Reach.

bro, I know what you mean. I was frustrated as All Alone was the only achievement i needed until 1700G. I luckily found it in a random game of living dead (I had already given up on the achievement) and got it for my perfect game! but an achievement playlist? This totally ruins the whole idea behind achievements (to achieve something!) Instead, they should make a preference where you can search for only people with certain map packs. That would be great.

thats true, guess it could be implemented in halo 4 though. or 343i could get their heads out of their -Yoinks!- and not require achievements only on certain maps. instead they could only make the achievements obtainable after the pack is purchased

I would like to see something like this…however I could foresee this being somewhat of a tricky playlist. I mean, everybody that goes into the list would obviously be going in for a specific purpose, and after they get all of those achievements, then what? It’d serve its purpose well enough, but when everybody’s done, they’d go to another list and never come back.
IMHO a better solution, especially when H4 is out and they’d be trying to consolidate playlists, would be to make gametypes/maps that are needed for achievements show up more frequently if not appear as an option every time you play appropriate playlists.

I honestly think this would be a great idea, but I dont think it will happen. I enjoy getting 100% achievements on all Halo and Call of Duty games, but some on these just seem impossible because of the map and game selection, then like the other guy mentioned, everything has to work out so you get it when its finally selected. I like seeing your coming up with some creative idea’s. Another idea would be to keep Achievements out of multiplayer to help avoid boosting and the pure frustration of not getting what you need. Then again some of them can be fun. Could be said either way.

dude you can get the achievement in a custom game with a guest for the stockpile one just got to use the latest stockpile game type either download it or save it after playing it, same thing with the game map but you can use just use any from your matchmaking game history

Getting some of the achievements are achievements in themselves. I’ve played probably days worth in the anniversary maps and I can never get the from hell’s heart achievement. I’m pretty sure I’ve given it to dozens of random people by accident, gotta love those stickies. But some of these achievements are so bloody unfair it makes you question why you have to earn them. I hear a lot of people just achievement boost to get em’. If you have to boost or cheat to get a bugy achievement then it shouldn’t be there at all.

On top of that if there were a playlist for DLC achievements then you can bet that there will be a lot of trolls who just enter to sabatage everyone else.
