The mcc is a halo fans dream, and a achevment hunter’s challenge, it has around 600 achevments… I think. It has all 4 games packed in it and it’s pretty fun, they have been doing some patching and i thin, it’s great! If you got it to play thru some campaigns then you’ll probably enjoy it. I jjst like it, my opinion and it’s ok if you disagree with me.
Definitely agree, achievement hunting in MCC is one of the most enjoyable things I’ve ever done with a Halo game. Hopefully we get more achievements if Reach is added.
Yep, I agree with achievement hunting in MCC. That’s one of the major factors why I continue playing this game. It’d be cool if they reintroduce some achievements that are absent from their 360 counterparts.
This is my favorite game of all time for achievements. Lots of fun to be had in both campaign and multiplayer.
I never did speedrunning or LASO before there were achievements for both, and had a ton of fun doing both.
Its a massive undertaking to complete the entire list (you have to be very much committed before doing this if you want to do every achievement). Finished most of H2 (except for Monopolized and Back for More) and will start on H3 next. H1 still need Goat Roped and Like a Fine Wine. Multiplayer is finished.
If it comes to PC, I am just really crossing my fingers its Play Anywhere and achievements carry over, please don’t make us do this all over again! This list is the biggest I have ever seen in any Xbox game ever!
This is basically my favorite part of MCC. I achievement hunt on this game all the time. I hope they add even more soon with this recent announcement they have coming up!
Every time I start the H3 LASO playlist I’m so into it saying this time I will finish the fight but after 30 minutes or less like 2 minutes I turn off the XBOX. xD
But I like the challenging part of it. And there will be plenty attempts.

If it’s going to PC it will be a Play Anywhere title, so the achievements will likely carry over. Microsoft isn’t allowing its first party games to have one version for console and one for PC, there’s just one game on different platforms.
If you’re worried about the Minecraft issue where the achievement progress all started over that was because the code base of the new Minecraft Bedrock edition came from mobile, not console so nothing ported over from console versions of Minecraft without doing a data conversion.
MCC going to PC would start with the console version and it’s existing achievement structure.

The reason I said if it might not be Play Anywhere on PC (meaning as a separate port with its own list) is because Sunset Overdrive recently just came out for PC (which was also for a long time a Xbox One only exclusive, the same time period when the MCC came out in the early years on the Xbox One) and the PC port is not Play Anywhere and has its own achievement list. For a game like that its OK because its not a massive list and is pretty normal for most games, but for the MCC, I believe that is the biggest achievement list in Xbox Game history (since the 360) so getting them all again would be extremely time consuming (and will take months no getting around that) to get once again, since some of these multiplayer achievements are very grindy and take forever. I like that they are satisfying but doing them again is not fun with a massive list like this (that is just my opinion, others may want to do them again but that is up to them). Sunset Overdrive is a Third Party Game and not First Party like Halo so its most likely going to be Play Anywhere but we won’t know until they announce it. I don’t play Minecraft so I was not aware of that. One question is has there been any other Xbox games that was Xbox One only but became Play Anywhere later on that merged with the console version list or has it been only separate PC ports with there own achievement list (like with the Halo Spartan games)?
I hope going into the future that Microsoft won’t have anymore of these duplicate achievement lists for different platforms (because why should we earn them twice or more?) and be more unified with a single list across different platforms with every title being Play Anywhere.
BTW I do have fun going for all of these achievements (I am not saying I don’t have fun with them) and I do hope they add more, they just take a lot of effort to finish. Just thinking of how many more achievements they could potentially add in if ODST Firefight and Reach were added. If you take ODST campaign as that was DLC, that was 1000 points (100 achievements) total. If you times that by ODST firefight mode (another 1000/100 achievements), Reach’s Campaign, Multiplayer and its Firefight, that is an additional possible 4000/400 achievements to get, totaling the collection to 10,000/1000 achievements (which is absolutely insane!!!). They could then do another Multiplayer Update to the collection in general (I feel there is room for more different achievements to add in for Halo 3 and 4 could get some achievement love like Halo 1 and 2, not Spartan Ops) to add even more achievements then if they wanted too (maybe another 1000/100, why the heck not?!) after they add in ODST Firefight and Reach.
I love the replay value it added. I’m sad that ive only got three left for CE. I’ve played the missions probably hundreds of times on the original Xbox but I loved having new goals other than to beat the mission or try to get the warthog in weird places. I kind of wish they would add some further achievements. I wa surprised there were achievement from some common things we used to do back in the day like “flipping the halo ring” in POA or getting the warthog to the blue hallway in SC or doing the AOTCR despawn. I kind wish there was a “jump from one blue beam tower to another” on the Halo level just to see how many people even try it. I think it took the community like 15 years to do it once.
Probably the game I’m most proud of completing. I managed to complete it 3 different times on 3 different accounts. Learning the speedrunning tricks was very fun. CE is probably my favorite game to run.
