Accuracy: It's More Complicated Than you Might Think

But I been low-key testing a LOT in this game to see how this game actually works. Yesterday out of curiosity I worked on what actually counts towards the accuracy rating at the end of games. I did this by setting up customs against bots on a low setting to be as accurate as possible without too many mistakes, so bare that in mind.

In terms of how weapons work, most are straight forward. A bullet from the AR or sidekick for instance counts as a “shot fired” and therefore if you land all of them you get 100% accuracy.

The BR is unique in that every bullet in the 3 shot burst counts as a shot fired, and therefore if you only land some of the bullets and not all of them, it impacts your accuracy. This also applies to the Shock Rifle as well since it is actually shooting 3 bursts within the electricity beam it fires.

Splash damage from the explosions just has to graze someone, even the lightest bit, and it counts as a hit. That’s logical, and expected.

Just to see if it mattered, I tested grenades and melees, and they don’t count towards accuracy at all. I need to go back and test the melee weapons now that I think about it.

Vehicles count each individual shot, as well as turrets. So using vehicles a lot makes your accuracy pretty ragged pretty fast.

NOW we come to some weird things I found. The Bulldog counts as a hit not matter how many pellets land from the shot, so you can ironically be very inaccurate with it and still get 100% accuracy.

BUT, the Heatwave counts every single bolt fired as an individual shot. Therefore, if you’re blasting away with it but only hitting a couple of them every time you fire, your accuracy tanks pretty fast.

And finally, the Sentinel Beam counts every % of a shot as a shot fired, so it REALLY impacts your accuracy. Just a split second of errant spray makes it look like you miss a lot more than you probably do.

As far as I know this is the extent of it right now. I absolutely guarantee the weird latency issues and desync have a huge impact as well, although I couldn’t test them in this way. If you have any questions or things you want me to test again let me know.
