Is it possible to delete this account for the forums, or to link it to a different windows live ID?

I’ve recently changed the WLID associated with my gamertag. As such, I cannot create an account for this site becasue this name is in use on my old WLID.

Is there a possible remedy for this?

Nope. Go make a new account. That’s pretty much all you can do for what you are asking about.
