I Pre Ordered Halo Reach when it was still new, got it at the release and played the campaign and a little bit of multiplayer then havent played it since (4 years or more now?)Now after so long of not playing a buddy of mine has been playing and convinced me to play again, at the time i stopped playing i had no ban, and have never modded, hacked, or otherwise cheated in this game or any other. but when I load up Reach I get the message saying my account and xbox are CR banned. How can i find out why I’m banned and for how long? I have searched for any reasons but havent found anything that says i should be banned years later? I see that you can be CR banned for going AFK during matches or quitting early, this may be the reason for my ban, but everything i’ve read says it should last 24 hours for the first time? up to 1 month for repeat offenders. But it has been years so why am i still banned if thats the case? with it being so long since i’ve even played the game im guessing this ban may be permanent? Kinda feels pointless to keep playing knowing i’ll never earn anything for it so i’d really like to at least find out why
Good morning.
Based upon your message, I am assuming you’re stating that you loaded up Halo Reach for the first time since 2/2/2011 today on 03/15/2015. If this is the case, somebody played Halo: Reach on your account, yesterday on 03/14/2015 based upon your game history. So before anything else is taken into consideration, does your friend have access to your account (is your XBox LIVE Account accessible on your friend’s Xbox)? If this is the case, does your friend do anything to break ToS(Such as modding, etc)?
If your XBL Profile is on your friend’s 360, it is your responsibility to ensure the security of it. If somebody else plays on it and does something (or has something) they shouldn’t, you as the account holder are still liable for any consequences of that as part of XBox LIVE’s Terms of Service. If you did not play Halo: Reach yesterday and your profile is not on your friend’s 360, I would strongly recommend updating your security settings on your LIVE profile and have your password changed as soon as possible.
As for looking through your game history, for what would load from yesterday 3/14/2015, I found a couple of games where you (or the person playing your account) had a guest signed in who earned 0 kills, which the banhammer system determined was AFKing, which would result in a credit ban.
So first, the question is does anybody else have access to your LIVE account? If so, that needs to be fixed. If not, you need to make your LIVE account more secure. Secondly, with LIVEs ToS, you are responsible for your account, even if somebody or something else plays on it, so the Banhammer justifiably swung. You’ll just have to wait for the cR ban to be lifted.
I hope this helps and have a nice day now.
Nobody else has my account, that was me and my daughter yesterday (3/14/15) playing (shes 6 which is why no kills but she likes playing with dad so…) but yes before that 2011 sounds about right. So basicly your saying i got my account banned by playing with a guest who just wasn’t good at the game? ::::tosses halo reach in the trash:::: I’ll never buy another 343 game again. ty for your time.

Bungie designed the banhammer for Halo: Reach, not 343i. I understand the frustration this causes, but Bungie put the system in place to prevent players from cheating and boosting. 343i redesigned it in Halo 4, making it less harsh for future games. I could recommend firefight matchmaking for you when you are playing with your daughter, as it isn’t hard to get a kill in that, but based upon your comment, I don’t think you’ll be playing again, and I honestly hope that isn’t the case.

343i and Bungie have been working on the Halo games for a bit now, so technically they both worked on Halo Reach. I’m just here to say that. I’ve never gotten banned, so I don’t know how to deal with this.
Open to wait to join you lift the restriction, and make your account more secure because someone else probably has played with your profile .

Yes, Bungie and 343i did indeed work on Halo: Reach, but it was Bungie who designed and hardcoded the banhammer for Reach. It was not until the Master Chief Collection came out that 343i actually made modifications to the Hammer, which was primarily modifications to prevent cheating in Team Doubles.

they just like having you take FOREVER to get enough credits, they shouldve only put the banhammer to ban people who transer downloaded hacks, trashtalkers, and spawntrappers

OP what happen is that 343i and bungie made it that when you play on Halo Reach and you don’t get any kill or quiting playing Halo Reach in match making muiltplayer game you will get a auto ban hammer on your account and xbox 360. Next time if your daughter want to play Halo Reach just let her play firefight offline. The reason why Bungie and 343i have this auto ban hammer to keep the booster and cheater from getting max xp and kill on there account. Op i think what happen was that your daughter didn’t get any kill on a lot of the matches she play on your account and cause the auto ban hammer to hit your account thinking that you was boosting. Sorry op next time someone play your account on Halo Reach if you get unban always get one kill and don’t afc for more then 2min in game then you good to go.
Please don’t revive old topics, thanks.
