Hello,
I just wanted to say that some of these DLC achievements for Halo: Reach are REALLY hard to earn. Not so much in terms of gameplay difficulty, but just in meeting the conditions to even be eligible to obtain them. For example, I have been trying to get “You Blew It Up!” for a long time now, but Breakpoint simply never, ever appears for me in the Invasion playlist, which is the only option for playlists that I have to earn it. I guess there was an earlier time when these DLC maps were new and competitive multiplayer was set up a little better to earn them, but the way it is now just seems to make it much more convoluted for players like me than it should, you know?
Same with “All Alone”… there is no objective DLC playlist anymore so I just have to play Rumble Pit and Living Dead and hope everyone in the lobby has the Defiant map pack installed just to even have a chance to vote on it, which again is incredibly rare. At least with “Emergency Room” I can open the Anniversary FFA playlist and know that everyone has the prerequisite maps installed, though even then Infection rarely comes up and gets selected via majority vote that much.
If 343 Industries would please consider tweaking the playlist selection or the frequency of certain DLC maps in the voting rotations, or doing something else just to remove a few of the flaming hoops that must be jumped through to get some of the Noble, Defiant & Anniversary achievements then I would appreciate it a lot. I’m not asking for them to be made easier to get during gameplay, but just for setting up eligible matches to be made a little bit less like winning the lottery and getting struck by lightning at the same time.
Why not create permanent Noble & Defiant playlists to accompany the Anniversary ones? Yeah, I understand that Halo 4 is coming out and modern game studios have this tradition of slowly bleeding their current online offerings dead while simultaneously hyping up the next product, but Reach is the predominant active Halo game and lots of players like me are still squeezing everything out of it that we can. You guys can still show it some love and fill out the current matchmaking offerings a little better, I think.
That is another big issue I have with Reach matchmaking –– that I paid real money for Noble & Defiant on top of the Anniversary DLC and I hardly get to play those other great maps the way matchmaking is currently set up –– but I think they are somewhat related.
Thanks!
