Does anyone else think there should be a 2 or maybe 3 strike rule for betrayal’s?
recently, i’ve been booted from several games that have been quite advanced into the game for a genuine accidental betrayal, which is really annoying,
i personally give 3 strikes for being betrayed before i boot someone, so i was just wondering what the consensus of the forum is regarding this.
any feedback would be appreciated.
Nope, right now, the betrayal system works like this:
> 1 betrayal isn’t enough, on its own, to prompt your teammate to boot you.
>
> Every player has a value that tracks the damage they’ve done to their teammates, and the system that governs that value takes into account many things. The value has a threshold, and if you commit a betrayal that pushes you over the threshold or if you are over the threshold and commit a betrayal your teammate will be prompted to boot you. The value is in a constant state of degradation but it decays slowly and carries over between games. This is done to ensure that a problematic player doesn’t have their slate wiped clean and regain the ability to commit excessive flagrant actions against their allies every time they load into a game. A player may have two or three betrayals in a game and not get booted, but when that’s the case there is a good chance a teammate in the next game will be prompted to boot them on their first betrayal in that new game.

If you stopped shooting your team mates a lot like said above, the player wouldn’t have the option to kick you first time.
ah, i see, it carries over from game to game,
my betrayals are usually rocket or grenade induced, and as i mentioned, totally accidental,
i’ll watch my trigger finger in future!!
thanks for the reply!

That doesn’t appear to be true. I don’t betray, except by accident during a fight, and really infrequently at that. Hadn’t had a single one for weeks (though I suppose it’s possible some stray shots hit teammates in general), playing in Countdown (SWAT), and someone stepped in front of my shot while I was scoped in and actively shooting an enemy. Immediately kicked out. I’ve had other events where I had someone walk up to me, look into my face and deliberately shoot me. No provocation, and no boot option. He did so three more times in the game, once more to me…nothing. No one booted him, or AFAIK was even offered the option.
While there may be some system in place, the one described doesn’t seem to be it.
