How often does this happen to you guys? You throw a grenade in a random direction across the map, or in a panicked frenzy, next thing you hear is a massive voice booming ‘betrayal’ and you’re booted. You go back to theatre and… oh, your grenade bounced off 10 different walls and managed to squeeze through a crack before blowing up in your friends face… Ouch.
Here I’m going to complain about Halo’s current booting system and how it should work in Halo: 4. There are several options for not getting booted from an accident.
- Don’t throw random grenades like an idiot (but this is halo making that impossible)
- Have trust that the guy will see it’s an obvious mistake an not boot you. (yea, people aren’t that nice in general on LIVE)
- turn friendly fire off (but then that would ruin all those limited moments when a guy is standing still and you fire a rocket and get an overkill… on your team… across the map…win)
Ok but here is my serious version of what it should be, and that is a simple veto system. Now this could work in two ways, here is the first:
1.Vote to kick: Once someone betrays you twice the same booting screen comes up but this time instead of an automatic boot, atleast three players have to agree with you, this would stop that idiot from rage booting you and you’d be at the mercy of the unbiased team mates. (unless they are all 12 years old… Then you’re screwed.
- Several betrayal booting: This one is slightly fairer but takes longer to get to the point. Someone who decides he didn’t like his lunch and wants to take it out on the universe through violent shenanigans will probably be killing anyone and everyone in their childish rage. So in this version he needs to betray over 3 different people before a boot screen comes up, and these have to be within 3 minutes of eachother.
What do you guys think? I think a simple change to the booting system will stop those unfair bootings and keep the flow of the game nice for everyone.
