The main con of assassinations is that they are sometimes done unintentionally, I think I have come up with a solution to fix that. If you are assassinating someone, you should be able to hit your melee button a second time to stop the animation, NOT giving you the assassination medal.
Comments and suggestions are welcome.
EDIT:The cut-off time for being able to cancel the animation would be one second (maybe less) to prevent using the cancel as a “Holy crap save me button.”
An individual option to turn it off would be better.
This is actually a pretty good idea.
Players who want the assassination can go through with it, and players who don’t can simply tap the melee button again while in the process of performing one.

This would be for the people who still use assassinations but just don’t want one at that time.
I would like to be able to stop assassinations and just get the assassin medal instead. If your half way into doing a assassination would you be able to stop it or just let it play out?
Heres a good idea. it hasnt failed me yet, just tap RB to get a beat-down, hold it down to get an assassination. Not that hard people, come on.

I used to say that, then my spartan wanted to to an animation, every. dang. time.

That’s not a bad idea, but an option to turn them off would be the best, in my opinion.
This wouldn’t work at all. Why? Jimmy here is an over-aggressive punk who assassinates at every available opportunity. Normally (aka Reach), he can get showstopped or severely weakened while doing his rash assassination. If they implemented OP’s idea, it would become just an instant-HOLY CRAP SAVE ME button.

I’m thinking of what would be a good cut-off time for being not being able to cancel an assassination,does one second sound good?
