If 343i, are not capable of making the hard tough decisions, to not delay the game and stay on target. Then Microsoft should step in with a statement and make the tough calls for them, The past 40 years Microsoft has released products, some good and some bad. But they always get over the heat, cause profits are everything to them and rightly so, in a business world. Cause if sales and targets are not meet on time, then that goes all the way down to their employees and their families, especially the loss they made during the pandemic.

not to say halo 2 is bad, but could’ve been so much better if bungie had enough time to bring their vision for the game to fruition
i dont understand the point of this post

Microsoft should come out and say their is no delay to the campaign. Cause they can handle the heat, shown by Windows 10 and 20 other failed products. That takes the heat and pressure off 343i to develop co-op, without whinny and crying fans.

I thought Halo 2 was held back by the original xbox not deadlines

It’s Forward Unto Dawn. And Microsoft is likely who made the decision for them to delay. I don’t think 343 wants to release the game unfinished, but because they feel pressured by fans and Microsoft, they’re just sucking it up. Well, we’re going to tell them that they don’t have to do this for us, cause we don’t want it. We don’t want them to release a half finished game. The lack of Forge will neuter Multiplayer on launch, and will stunt the growth of a new community. 6 months later, the hype will be gone, and they will have lost an insane amount of momentum for this game’s success. We need to delay, for the sake of this game.

Is the entire point of this post just to say “hey, it’s okay for them to release crap, that’s part of business?”
You just listed failed products like windows 10, and your point is… what exactly? That when businesses have profit as their sole motive, they tend to make worse art?

Yeah, Halo 2 could be a great game if Microsoft don’t were putting deadlines.

Ruined halo 2? . Hmm arguably the best Bungie Halo .

ME, Vista and 8. Disagree.
You just wanted to have a cool title for a post, didn’t you?

Widley considered the best halo ever made…but ya’know…
we live in crazy times…

While it absolutely could have been better without deadlines, Halo 2 is still a great game. Not quite a masterpiece like the other parts of the trilogy, but not completely ruined.
Personally, I think the blame should not just be put on Microsoft, but a mixture of them, Bungie’s overambitious management, and the hardware limitations of the original Xbox.

hard disagree on that. the game was full of monotonous segments of fighting enemies over and over in one area, poorly designed jackal snipers strewn around at an excess, and parts that felt downright unfinished like the game just dropping you into enemy fire as soon as a mission starts.

The flaws add to the charm . Cempleting Legendary difficulty felt like a true achievement .so I’ll comfoetably stay with my arguably best Bungie Halo comment thanks

Yup.
