Over the last few weeks I have been steadily work my way up the rankings in the SWAT playlist after being placed in diamond division. Yesterday I managed to reach diamond rank 6, however today my playing turned sour and I lost a couple of games placing back in rank 5. From here it was a bit up and down for the next 6 games until I surprisingly hit rank 4 (which seemed to be way to quick as there were both wins and losses). What happened next really aggravated me as another single loss occurred which immediately de-ranked me from 4 straight to rank 3.
Over the last two days I have developed the connection issue in Halo 5 matchmaking which frustratingly causes me to be disconnected very frequently from games. I am pretty sure this is due to my permanent strict/moderate NAT type but I had changed nothing to cause this and have tried everything to remove the problem. I’m not sure if the constant disconnection has anything to do with being de-ranked as it has only ever ruined my req packs. I am just wondering if anybody else has encountered a similar problem as I am pretty sure this is not how the ranking system is supposed to work (and I don’t want to be alone in my frustration and misery).
the issue with being disconnected from the “dedicated” servers has to do with your IP address. my xbox had the same issue when i switched companies. in order to stop your NAT Type from fluctuating from strict to open you need to change the IP address in xbox network settings from automatic>>>>manual in advanced settings. then set up a new IP address. you only need to change the last set of digits, leave: 192.168.0.??? the other part may be you DNS settings. i had to change mine, just went with the good ol’ 8.8.8.8 should correct your problem. had to search forever for some more fine details, but thats the overall concept that it has to do with your internet and not halos bs “dedicated” servers, cuz theyre obviously not and idt they care that much. with how much they make you would think they could actually throw some money into their “dedcated” servers, or at least take that word out.
as far as ranking, i can say that ive exhausted the idea of understanding matchmaking cuz the odds are always against the team that has lower rank csr or players leaving (with minimal consequences), which effect your csr. in my opinion, csr doesnt determine how great or bad of a player you are as the “dedicated” servers continue to match players with uneven teams. match players with even csr, or is that crazy?!?!?? its a simple concept, but it looks as though theyre in it for the money and not the players. just continue to play well and enjoy the game for what its worth cuz its why weve invested. that is, until whoever the “dedicated” server team is gets their $*** together
