Abysmal Performance on Mid-High PC Rig

Specs:
Windows 10 Home (Hardware-Accelerated GPU Rendering Enabled)
32 GB DDR4 RAM
Intel i7-9700F 8 Logical Processors @3 GHz, boosts up to 4.5 GHz
RTX 2080 8GB VRAM

I’m doing everything I can to offload work from the CPU to the GPU since my CPU is clearly my limiting resource, but this game’s campaign seems DETERMINED to hard bottleneck on the CPU. From all the complaints I’ve seen, this game chokes hard on nearly any CPU, to quite an absurd degree. For all the talk about being built for a PC audience, it seems to be nearly impossible for most players to get a stable framerate without tapping into DRS. And even then, the frametime hitching seems to affect anyone and everyone at random when custom resolution bounds are set. I’ll admit, I’m very much about getting high framerates, I play with a 144 maximum variable refresh monitor, I set my custom bounds between 120-140 fps. During the first two indoor missions, I didn’t notice any apparent issues, but once I got to the first outdoor segment I immediately started hitting 100% CPU usage and the DRS was struggling to keep the fps at 120. It’s frankly an embarrassing state of optimization that needs to be addressed, there’s no reason most people who play the campaign on PC should be struggling this hard to maintain any level of consistency.

The fact they haven’t even released a statement since release on if they’re even trying to optimize the game better is alarming. Just completely mum about it. PC players got totally jipped. Probably why the steam numbers are so atrocious at the moment.

Summary

Actually they have released a statement saying they actually don’t care about pc performance issues and only care about sleeping and feeling good about the game they released.

Yeah, optimizing on pc is a must, nearly every other game is better optimized than infinite

Perhaps they will add some performance drivers in the shop™ later this year.
