at this point they don’t care and in years time when the drm system isn’t there and we can’t play the soddin thing then people will all of a sudden start to realise and start complaining. Too late

an update on Halo offline Infinite campaign if digitally downloaded for xbox. What with the recent talk of DRM removal on single games being a thing, I thought I’d test this once again to see if it’s actually possible now to play this entirely offline from an offline cold boot
And great news, you still absolutely cannot play this game offline even though you own the right to play it signed to your machine when Home selected. sigh
So thanks again MS demonstrating a complete lack of respect for your fans
Considering they aren’t doing anything extra now with campaign, I think it’s fair to say this isn’t a live service but a single player game so there really is no excuse for this to be tied to always needing to being online. The consequences as described are that we may lose the game completely from not being able to authenticate
I’m quite literally done with the series and it seems people are quite happy with the eventuality of losing their game so whatever
currently the only thing that works offline is the campaign.
several patches back they broke offline play on the custom games and academy (tutorial)

i can play the campaign offline on pc steam and on series s.
campagin is playable offline.

extra drm in winter update on pc, no longer works offline, not even campaign.
hangs on “autenticating services” when totally offline.
same as co-op flight, that’s when they added the extra drm.

I am just here to say that I just realized this, and I find it very frustrating…
I understand that paying for a digital game is not owning it, its basically renting it…but dang, is there any disclaimer that says this game requires always connection to internet? I couldn’t find one, I feel scammed.

so frustrating. I didn’t realise it could be played offline on pc at least indefinitely. Hopefully it resolves this side
I’ve also noticed that Forge has been locked off for offline play too which is disappointing but not surprising

Also here to complain bitterly.
Been having intermittent internet issues… just wanted to play the damn campaign that I OWN.
Never buying another Halo campaign as long as I can’t own it outright (which means having access regardless of internet.)
