I agree. I hope they make most modes permanent; such as Warzone Turbo, Team Snipers, Super Fiesta… etc.
Taking a break from the awesomeness for the live stream
At least there is some good comments on it. Can’t wait to try it!
It has that Halo: Combat Evolved feel, even with Spartan Abilities! Happy 15th Birthday Halo!! <3
I am so hype to meet and possible attempt to assassinate some 343 team members.
I know some people aren’t digging it, but I’m glad to see others having fun with it. It’s a fun little nod to the franchise’s roots
This is a fantastic playlist. I loved Halo CE, and this is so much fun!
What is it?
Throw in Blood Gulch, Death Island and Boarding Action and I’ll never leave the playlist.
I am also a big fan of it, but I’d prefer a classic playlist. Not that I don’t like it, I just think a classic playlist would be better for the community.
Blasting fools with the Magnum is so much fun!!!
It would be a crime to not make this playlist permanent! I absolutely love it to bits!!! Uny and the community cartographers did an insane job. Here are my proposals to make this playlist into a matchmaking cornerstone:
- Add more iconic maps from Halo CE, such as Blood Gulch, Derelict, Wizard etc. - Add H2 maps and classic BR starts (maps like Lockout, Midship, Sanctuary) - Add more gametypes just like the Halo Reach Anniversary playlist did (Snipers, maybe FFA, Bomb, Strongholds [if KotH is not making a return in H5]) - Would be awesome to have legacy gametypes working again anyway (KotH, Oddball)One thing that could really help Halo going again would be to keep up the work with community members. Nothing motivates more than to see your input be recognized by the developers of your beloved game. This is another reason why this playlist needs to stay. Infection helped getting one part of the community engaged, but the fans of old really have their coming with this throwback playlist! I’d love to see it being maintained frequently!

Exactly! This playlist rocks. Also, I believe we clashed in a game on Rat Race yesterday.
Me and my friends have been loving this playlist! I hope they keep it around and add to it. 3+ Hour sessions the last 2 nights. PLEASE 343 MAKE THIS PERMANENT!!
The real question is, do you love everything 343i makes? Then we can figure out bias and actual joy.

I have loved EVERY Halo game ever made. Sure there have been stuff in the games I didn’t like but over all I still loved them. I love how Halo changes things up. No two Halo games are alike. There was stuff Bungie did I didn’t like, I hated the increased bullet spread of the BR in H3 and the worse thing ever in Halo armor lock of Reach. I hated the way 343 botched MCC and H5 Spartan charge which is right up there with armor lock. To many players seem to zero in and concentrate on stuff they don’t like. H5 plays great and this anniversary throwback is a fun playlist. When I get the itch for some classic Halo I play MCC(apparently I am a lucky one with a working copy).

So do you feel for your fellow community members issues with the games or only your own? There isn’t a wrong answer of course I just find it hard to say 343i has done well when literally all of their halo titles have come under fire for various reasons, most notably not staying true to their legacy in anyway. I’m unsure if you’re one of the people who refuse to see the reason or you actually don’t see it. There’s a huge difference between the two and it’s hard to figure which is which since the bad ones try to take cover behind the good ones.
The reason people seem to focus on the bad is because there is so little good. Yes 343i gave out a throwback playlists but it’s barely throwback. It’s the same idea as promising one thing but giving out something else. I could easily count the good in Halo 5 but it’s greatly eclipsed by the bad, as many have pointed out before. At some point just saying “It’s going to get better.” doesn’t work, a Jewish father learned that the hard way 70 years ago.
People are upset and they hate the current design choices. Many rejoiced once they saw that Halo Wars 2 went to a more classic Halo look for the game and pray 343i does the same with Halo 6. People like their Halo to be Halo, not just another genetic modern shooter.

The low populations of Halo 5 and MCC are proof of how the wider community feels about 343i’s handling of the games.
> It’s been about 2 years since the Master chief collection came out, and 343 still hasn’t fixed some very major bugs. The game still freezes all the time, loading takes forever, and getting kicked out of matchmaking after every game is infuriating
Posted in a new thread about 13 hours ago on the MCC. A fairly common sight, was an extremely common sight when the game was more popular. The game has some serious coding and design issues. Let’s keep reminding us and 343i that that is the case, and that we haven’t forgotten or forgiven that. Let’s make sure we don’t give them the impression it’s ok to release a game in that state, or else they’ll do it again thinking we’ll just instantly forgive them selling us poor products.
i still am not sure why it would be called a classic throwback playlist while keeping all the updated movement parameters. literally the main reason people were asking for a playlist with custom settings was to get rid of sprint and thrust and ground pound.
