Hey guys, so I’ve been on and off with his game for the past few months, but this last two weeks I’ve been playing almost non-stop and I have to say I really enjoy the game right now.
I don’t know if I’m oblivious to whats broken but it seems to be in the best state right now. Like every leader seems viable (some more than others which is expected) and I see different unit comps a lot more now than before.
I don’t know if others feel the same way? But yeah.
Serina annoys the crap out of me, BUT that’s just her play style and it definitely adds something else to the game.
I don’t know, I think it’s so so. Nothings wrong, nothings great either.
I still think air is a problem.
Unless they fixed that, I’m not sure if they did though.

Ive found air manageable. Only ones that are truly troublesome are decimus banshees, but he’s all about them passives. It’s definitely not as bad as it used to be (so it seems).
Everything is decent. There are a ciole things here and there that need buffs and nerfs, like HB need more damage from scouts and marauders need a health nerf. Otherwise were in a very good spot rn

Yeah I agree. Marauders definitely need a health tweak.
I’ve been okay with the balance of the game. One thing I disagree with is, banished shields are meant for the base. You shouldn’t be able to hide your units in the shield as well. I played a very long 2v2 match to the point I got so mentally spent I wanted to give up lol. 3 blister backs with reavers next to them on the side of the base protecting his shield generator and hunters in the front of his base. I couldn’t break it. Both teams were maxed out on upgrades and the pushes just went back and forth until finally his banished leaders, warlord and decimus, and Arby or shipmaster not sure which but three fully upgrades leaders at my expo then main. Maybe I just had a bad game but I remember thinking that units should not be protected by BASE shields. Focus firing went out the window .

Shields are absolutely worthless. They hold up for about 5-10 seconds right now against any decent army size. If you’re having trouble with them… don’t know what to tell you. They’re only purpose right now is to buy time for a single leader powers or hold off a light skirmish for a few seconds

Not entirely. Voridus is beatable, but only if the player using Voridus is much worse than you. He definitely provides an unfair advantage

The man with 33 wins has a feel for the meta and is telling people to get good. Exactly what I’ve come to expect from these forums.
voridis= broken
theres a reason he was banned from the BTC 2’s tournament

My friend, don’t bother.
I hate to sound this arrogant, but some players on these forums just don’t understand the current “balance” of the game and never will. Either their ignorant to how unbalanced something is or are playing at a low level where players don’t build units for the first fifteen minutes.
Anyone who plays this game at a remotely competitive level understands how hilariously broken he is.
Save your energy, my dude. Just not worth it. I once had a player on here tell me that Banshees could beat Wolverines at a 1:1 ratio. After that happened, I’ve been trying to avoid having discussions on here, as some players just don’t understand this game. And additionally, will make claims without testing anything or having an significant evidence. Save yourself the trouble.

You’d normally pay like 1200 blue and 800 yellow and a leader point to make your army invincible for 7 seconds. Which only works as Atriox.

The difference? You have to hug your base, only protecting a few units at a time, and your army more often than not gets nuked immediately. So let’s compare. One- base centric shield protecting a handful of land units at time for a stacking power and resource cost that your opponent can knock down almost instantly. Two- leader power that can be popped whenever on your entire army, which your opponent has no control over and can be used anywhere on the map. Not even close as to which is better.
shield gens, and banished turrets in general, are garbage. The cloaking is the only one worth damn, and that’s only if you’re opponent is dumb enough to not make a reveal unit. Shields are even worse.

Shield Generators are one of the best tools the Banished have.
You’re either:
a) giving yourself a window to get to your base ifnits getting attacked. This is especially effective in team games or when playing against leader with Teleport or Pelican Transport
b) giving yourself a hilarious defender’s advantage. ~10 seconds (varies i in army comp) of having your army invulnerable is incredibly strong. One is capable of making a serious dent in an army during that time. If your opponent decides to flee, you now have them on the run. Let’s also not forget about that ability to build a Shield Gen. the moment you see an opponent making their way to your base, and having it up pop up the moment they arrive or while they’re attacking, again, giving you ~10 seconds of invulnerability.
Shield Gens. are a beautiful, beautiful thing.
Good luck fighting any Banished, especially Shipmaster, that has an army of counter units parked under a shield, while teleporting Locust around the map.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think that shield gens are an issue at all. Actually, I agree with most of your points, except for shield gens being not worth building.
In my experience, shield gens shine during mid game, where armies tend to be manageable in size so that every single unit counts. A handful of reavers for example will heavily benefit from the shield when defending against air ambushes. This requires good micro of course.
Shield gens lose relevancy in most late game encounters due to the massive size of the armies, but even then there are some leaders who can use shield gens to turtle for like forever. But those are very specific scenarios that occur rarely.

Playing Voridus is like playing the game on easy mode

If you can fit your whole army under a shield gem, you’re some sort of wizard. The rings are puny, they give you just enough room to hide a reaver/hunter or two beneath it? Maybe? And locusts are no sweat with Siege turrets being monstrously good as they are right now and teleport being very bad as well. Gens were good pre-nerf, but now? No reason to make them unless you’re Atriox and you haven fortifications. Otherwise you’re crippling your economy to hide under something for 10-5 seconds at max, meanwhile your opponent gets map control. Gens suck, there’s not really room for debate.
