Absolutely brilliant campaign!

Last night I finished my first playthrough on heroic difficulty. I haven’t enjoyed a halo campaign as much since halo 3! Sure odst and reach had great campaigns too and halo 4 was good in some parts. But not only is the story amazing in infinite but the gameplay is fun and exciting too. This feels like a real sequel to halo 3. But still managing to continue the story after 4 and 5 and actually making it work! Cannot express enough how much I enjoyed every second of my playthrough! Shall be going for the legendary run next and finding all the skulls and audiologs I missed on my first playthrough. Well done 343i and everyone involved in making this game! Multiplayer still has some pretty glaring issues right now but I have more confidence than ever that 343i can deliver us something incredible. Even if we do have to wait however long for old and new content to be added in. Hoping it won’t be too long before we get all the classic game modes back and a better progression system and all the other features that are currently missing but in terms of campaign, this is a very solid entry in the franchise. I rank it just below halo ce and 2 and on par with halo 3. And the game only crashed once at the start of the 3rd mission for me, despite still playing on a crummy old xbox one. 10/10!

I’ve only just finished downloading it and done the first intro on normal but it’s already got some feels. Been a long time waiting for this game so I’m glad they have done a good job. I also brought a Xbox Series X for it as well.

I really loved it too, just finished my first playthrough on legendary and while most of it was pretty easy, there were parts that made me shout at my monitor a lot lol.
I think the original trilogy had a much better plot than 4, 5, infinite, however this game is special.

Im about 2 hours in and just finished the Tower mission, the story has been very weak so far. Does it pick up?

Halo usually has these epic galactic stories. Halo Reach for me is peak Halo with tons of variety in enemies, locations and an emotional story with high stakes.

Something tells me this guy didn’t experience it all in legendary :man_facepalming:

Definitely a bit more grounded compared to older titles but it feels like it’s building up to bigger things. That being said, the ending is well done and it just left me wanting more. As opposed to halo 5 which just left me feeling very confused and dissatisfied. Can’t wait to see what comes next!

what do you mean? you don’t think I played the campaign on legendary?

All the open world stuff is a piece of cake thanks to the freedom in choosing how to fight, the forerunner parts inside the ring are more difficult but still easy thanks to the abundance of fusion coils and powerful weapons and the boss fights are tough, but doable. Hardest it got for me was the later fights with hunters and a couple of the bosses gave me trouble but thats it. Most of the bosses are solved by just picking a box / pillar and just kiting around it while shooting them.

bassus kicked my -Yoink!- on legendary!
still not finished yet either so not sure what’s to come.

Going off your title

Reading through all these posts like this, it seems the majority don’t think so, and the upvotes these posts are getting are depressing…

So if I switch it to legendary the world map will have more variety? Will the story be better and more epic? Will there be a better sense of urgency?

Legendary means nothing at all.

I agree, I love this new campaign and I can’t wait for more story

I just love legendary difficulty, I have a life and do other stuff I’m only on campaign 3 or 4 hours at least

The story sucked. Lore destroyed.

Nah, it’s a good first step in the right direction after halo 5.
