absant Grunt combat forms.

in halo wars i saw grunts being infected and becomeing flood. how come in all other halo games besides obvious reach and odst not get infected?

There were more models to put in.

They didn’t have time to put them in originally, so they came up with the concept that they were generally unsuitable as Combat forms and so simply used for raw biomass.

figures i always had a feeling it would somehow be over kill. i guess bungi also didnt want the common relief cannon fodder to get in thier way.

On the Halo wiki, it says that Flood spores only infect lifeforms with sufficient body mass and thinking abilities. Grunts are either too small or too dumb. But if they were in Halo Wars (which I didn’t play), then the developers didn’t have enough time.

As stated above they are used for biomass and they(along with Jackals) are also used for the Carrier Forms(I think)

It’s pretty much that Bungie just decided or never had the time or resources to make Grunt flood forms.

Grunts, being nearly as big as the average human, should be flood capable, and other media seems to support the idea that Grunts could be infected.

However, I would not take Halo Wars as solid proof, since a lot of stuff in the game was added for the sake of gameplay experiences (i.e. Spartans having shields, the shielded wraith, etc).

If you look at the carrier form’s leg it looks like a grunt leg
