Hello everyone. I recently purchased halo wars 2 ultimate edition and I am about to start playing it and possibly streaming it. Are there any tips anyone can give me? I have never played a halo wars game before or any strategy game. I will be going into this blind so I can use some help before I start.
Get your fist 5 minutes build order down, that will help you a lot in the long run.

I would experiment with the leaders and watch some videos on how to use them as someone leaders have a higher skill gap like ship master is harder to use that decimus but when you do things right the pay off is good
Play the campaign before you go into multiplayer, and also play the tutorials, it is so shocking to me that people even think of playing a new type of game without knowing the controls and then attempt to go to multiplayer. TL:DR is play the campaign, master the controls, and have fun.

You have no idea how many rank 1 folks I have encountered who got the game through game pass but never even bothered to play campaign. As a result, they quit in the first 5 mins or fail to get a build order going by the time. I have literally seen someone still at T1 with 2 base slots still about 20 minutes into a 3v3 a week or so ago. This drives me nuts when its on my or the enemy team.
I would say play through the Tutorials, they are fairly short.
Then if you don’t feel like doing the campaign you can always play some Skirmishes against the AI to learn which buildings/units do what until you feel reading to jump into matchmaking.
