So, master chief falls from atmosphere and gets back up. But the S-IVs fall like 15-20 feet and their shields drop and they stop moving for a few seconds. Also, when they are shot they flinch horribly. As if they are not wearing a ton of armor… I am just not sure about it. It seems weird that the older spartans were better. I get that the S-IVs are made quicker, and don’t have any genetic modification, but still. It at least seems that the energy shield that covers the spartans would stop the flinch, since the round is not actually hitting them.
That’s because the Spartan-IIs are the pinnacle.
Besides Chief survived that fall because the gel-layer in his suit was put on maximum pressure.

And he used a large piece of Forerunner metal from Truth’s ship as a heatshield as he entered the planet.
Gameplay also isn’t canon.
Ensign Palmer and company could not clear that LZ in the campaign.
MC saves the galaxy and Earth in Halo 4…
If MC was back on Requiem, he beats all seasons of Spartan Ops in 10 minutes tops. Solo.

Really? That doesn’t make sense to me.
That was not gameplay that was the opening intro.
Regardless. MC-117 is bad -Yoink-.

So you’re saying that you believe that a marine can take a plasma pistol shot to the face and survive?

In the games? Yes. In the expanded universe? Not so much if he is by himself.
Remember that the spartan 4s are morse or less ordinary solders who enlisted in the program where mc was trained, and augmented to a much higher degree
Spartan I were an experiment gone wrong
Spartan II were lessons leaned from the first gen and improved on them and game them kick -Yoink- armour.
SPartan III were mass produced to fight the covies, they were rushed and not as well trained as II
Spartan iv arm once again mass produced, but experienced soldiers.
You saw the ending, that is basically a production line for making Spartans and putting them in there armour. The II’s are too cost effective, take too long to make and above all are morally wrong, hence why Halsey has been branded a war criminal.
> above all are morally wrong, hence why Halsey has been branded a war criminal.
There is an inherent sense of hypocrisy in a morally wrong organization (ONI) illegally imprisoning a scientist (Halsey) they conscripted to handle to create their morally wrong super-solider program.
Of course we all know Halsey is really imprisoned because of Parangosky’s personal vendetta against Halsey.
Did ONI sell out Halsey or the UNSC?
Parangosky has enough blood on her hands…

Halsey. The UNSC still gets to have Halsey’s services.
It’s just a video game…
> It’s just a video game…
To some, but to others its alot more… they read the books and everything…dedicated fans one might say, I find some of these threads interesting, to learn more… being that I don’t feel like reading that much anymore.

Like a guy said earlier. Gameplay doesnt equal canon. If we were playing as Chief in multiplayer, he would have fall damage too and viseversa

Well, I guess that aspect of it doesn’t. I took that statement as you can’t trust anything from the games; be it cinematics, gameplay, or plot. I assumed too much. Thanks for adding perspective for me.
in the good words of Caboose:

I don’t think you’re using that phrase right. Having high cost effectiveness is a good thing
