I know that Marty O’Donnell doesn’t work for 343i nor does he work for Bungie any longer… and I would hate to see him throw away his talents working on a project that he either no longer cares for or believes in. That being said, I would hope that 343i would take a look back on Halo 1-Reach and remember that Marty’s music is one of the single most important things to elevate Halo from being a generic space shooter into something powerful and dramatic as well as memorable.
Edit: Edit: Ooph, that nostalgia is strong, or maybe I’m just becoming to sentimental/emotional because my throat catches and I tear up a bit every time I hear that part of the track…Worst part is I’m pretty savvy with the Halo lore, so when I hear it, I just think what’s at stake and how these heroes were the only thing standing between extinction and survival.
It’s amazing what only 31 seconds of music can do.

I’d like to think so, his track “117” was pretty good, and “Green and Blue” was okay, but none of them are as memorable or powerful as Marty’s stuff… I really think they should take a cue from Marty’s work, and maybe even recycle some of his work. Because THAT would bring this back into feeling like Halo.

No, your right…I thought Marty worked with Steve Vai again this past music production…?

Nope, they revamped his work in-house for Halo 2: Anniversary. Marty was never on site or even involved. He would have posted about it on his Twitter. Only reason he was mentioned in the credits is due to the fact that he is the composer for the original works, not the remastered works.

Arrival was the best in Halo 4, also up there with some of Marty’s stuff in my opinion.
