About the Marines...

Hello forum, This is my first thread ever made and I might be told to go away! But in all honesty about CEA, I’m curious on how the Marines will look in the remake. From the trailers i’ve seen so far, the UNSC Marines seem to look alot like the Army troopers from Halo: Reach. Will they be edited or fixed to match the orignal trilogy’s Marines, or will they stay the same?

From playing Halo: Reach, A few people have realized that there are UNSC Marines at the Last level, The Pillar of Autumn. They look very simular to the ones in Halo: Combat Evolved, but obviously much more detailed and updated.

Any thoughts?

Will everybody stop saying the Reach Marines look different from the Troopers? They look exactly the same.

They have already updated the models from a few things since the trailer. I wouldn’t doubt the marines did too.

Apparently everything showed at E3 was placeholder so we should expect changes to;

MC’s armour
Marine models
Weapon models

Frankly I’m dubious about the assertion that this many things are placeholders with the game coming out next fall. This seems a bit questionable IMHO.

But really? Aside from the Mark V armor NEEDING to be made better than what we saw in the original trailer? I think the only thing that really needs to be fixed on the Trooper model from Reach is to just give them the armored boots from Halo CE. The bloody free hanging jeans are really the only thing that really screams to you that they’re not from Halo CE.

Oh. And the green eye monocles. Give us the green Monocles and the armored legging variant from Halo Reach and I’m honestly fine with how they look.

Also. I’d like it better if they made the coloring of the new Elite classes match more with the ones in the old game. Which is to say, Majors should be a less orange and a more obvious shade of red. Zealots shouldn’t be red. They should be golden.

I don’t really understand the Reason Bungie decided to change that color pattern in Reach (or even with the Brutes in Halo 3). There had previously been a well established color based way to determine the strength of enemies. Which got changed for no reason.

i hope the marines are not so stupid like in halo reach… the halo 3 AI is okay - they shoot sometimes fully automatic fire

theyre probably placeholders like the AR and magnum were in that build. Even if they aren’t different the troopers look similar enough to marines for it not to matter too much to me.

the marines AI will be identical to halo CE, so they will be mind-bogglingly stupid.

No they don’t.

Maybe the army are just using the standard UNSC BDU for ground combat whilst the Marines in Reach are wearing the BDU for space combat, hence the sealed helmets. Since the marines are on Halo in CE they are using the ground BDU.

The only difference in their BDU is color and they added the second half of the MP helmet. They’re essentially the same thing.

Leg armor’s also different.

He was posting pictures of Reach Marines. Yeah, Reach has Marines. Just not many of them.

Reach Marines should have the same canonical armor as Halo 1 Marines (despite having different graphical armor), so they could be used in the CE port without breaking an immeasurably minor and overall insignificant story detail (and angering the entitled fanbase in the process).

From what I have seen in the pictures, the Reach Marines look much different than the Army Troopers. Perhaps if the models could be changed?

in halo ce you cant exchange the weapon’s with a marine… i hope this will be fixed
