About the Frag grenades...

I think I’ve noticed this in almost every Halo since 2 or 3, but why is it sometimes a grenade kills you in one explosion (from FULL shields) and other times it doesn’t? I mean it has always seemed like every now and then, a single grenade that lands right at the feet of a fully shielded opponent I haven’t even fired upon yet will kill them. And occasionally it happens to me too. Is that a bug? A “sweet spot” grenade skill thing? A lag issue?

Always seemed to happen to me, but I never seem to get the kills myself. I think it really depends on where the grenade lands, but it seems totally random to me.

Yeah it definitely seems to happen TO me more than it does FOR me but I have gotten 1-frags on people with full shields a couple of times before. Mostly in 3, Reach and 5.

No idea how the hit box works with grenades. Would be interesting to hear the specifics.

One of my biggest gripes with every Halo game ever made… I’ve never understood why frag grenades are so effective whenever they’re used against me, but never when they’re used by me.

I think it might have something to do with connection/lag.

Never had the issue myself. Then again, I can usually tell when a grenades coming in and move out of the way.
I get killed by other stuff all the time. Not so much nades.

Frag Grenades cannot one tap a fully shielded Spartan in any regular Arena modes. They can in modes where your health is reduced (e.g. Infection or Breakout) and they might be able to with the Grenadier armor mod in Warzone (I don’t think they do), but never in something like Team Slayer or Super Fiesta.

The thing is they have before. I’ve never saved it, but I’ve been killed by a single frat at full shields and health before. Next time it happens I will try to remember and save it. It’s a semi regular occurrence I’ve just always thought of it as a fluke and never bothered to try and figure it out
