I just got through playing through the campaigns of all 5 fps Halo games (interesting seeing how they all tie in together) and while I was playing ODST and Halo 2, something didn’t seem to add up. In ODST, Buck’s first mission, which takes place immediately after the slipspace chase to 05, he finds a bunch of dead elites, suggesting that the “exchange of hats” had taken place, but in Halo 2, they don’t show this happening until after MC kills Regret. I haven’t read any of the books, so I’m not exactly sure, but either somebody messed up, or the brutes were already in the process of the “exchange” and Regret was just an excuse to make it official?

Yeah, that link just redirects to halo 4 on Xbox’s marketplace.
Its Slipspace, and Slipspace has a bunch of weird time-logic in it that I don’t understand. So this be best placed in the Halo Universe section. Or ask Deception Cobra as he is very knowledgeable about the Halo Universe.

Yeah the brutes killed them right after Regret left. So before they were even put in charge.
