About the Elite that got pwned

Did anyone else notice in the E3 video that when the elite was disintegrated the blast started at his base (feet) and worked its way up its body? Given the enemies are called Promethians (fire related) & the way fires spreads from the base up, I was wondering if this might be part of a gameplay feature with the forerunner weapons…stronger attacks if fired at the base of an enemy as opposed to the traditional nail-em-in-the-head method. I could see it being something geared towards noobs who traditionally tend to have issues looking up and aiming towards the head rather than hitting with body shots.
…or it could have just been done that way for a more interesting elite death.
Any thoughts?

In regards to the disintegration effect, it reminds me of Fallout, which is AWESOME. Gotta love energy weapons!

Great title haha. I think I understand what 343i meant that the covenant will be the least of our concerns. The covenant seem destroyed without the prophets telling them what to do. They are just a group of aliens now. The promethian AI’s on the other hand seem highly dangerous.

When I saw that Elite die I was like, “damn that’s a brutal way to die.” Lol they disintegrate into flaky orange dandruff.

I wonder how that Elite felt in it’s last seconds.
That would probably hurt realy bad.

I lol’ed at the player’s decision to reload right as an elite was charging at him, but obviously he knew dat elite was about to be vaporized so whatever. Pretty epic stuff, it looks cool in multiplayer too (yet another way to prevent teabagging? loljk)

The knight used a Scattershot to vaporize him. That’s a close range weapon. Don’t worry.

Footshot!

No…just no.

it’s just because he shot the Elite in the foot. -I can’t help but think RvB when I say that-

if you look when the Chief kill the Promethean later, the incineration begins at the head, so it probably depends on where the last shot landed.
