Hello again community, I was wondering would you want the halo 3 style unlockable armor, or the Halo: Reach style (cR to unlock/purchase) armor variants?
All i know is that it better not effect gameplay.
It wouldn’t be a bad idea to incorporate both. I wouldn’t mind seeing armor become unlocked by achieving something, then you may have the opportunity to purchase it, granted there’s a cR system in Halo 4.
Let us please not go back to the Halo 3 system for getting armour.
I’ll be honest, I cheated in order to get the Scout shoulders (and various other achievements). Shame on me, and all that, but think about it: many multiplayer matches were derailed because people wanted to grind for achievements. Hell, I think multiplayer achievements are a bad idea, even without tying in-game unlockables to them. It was like the kid begging for the Sniper, only he wants you to help him pull over an Over-Kill or a Perfection. It’s more griefing and begging that can otherwise be avoided easily.
Personally, I would like it if players had every piece of armour available to them at the start, but I’m sure that won’t happen. Halo: Reach’s system of unlocking armour is fine, ONLY if you can see and have the option to purchase all pieces of armour from the beginning. If a player wants a certain, expensive helmet, give him/her the option to start working towards affording it from the beginning, instead of only showing it too them later on when he/she has already spent everything.
