About sensitivity

How long do you think it’ll take to get use to sensitivity 7 coming from sensitivity 4? I’ve been chaning my sensitivity ever since Halo Reach and I would’ve been above average right now.

I do not know how long it would be. Ive alway played on a high sensitivity. 6-7 in halo 3/ reach and 10 in halo 4. It was not hard to get used too 10 for me so i dont think it would be that bad.

I’ve never gone above three, why do you need to have such a high sensitivity?

For me its agonizing to move that slow. When i started up the campaign and saw the default sensitivity setting was 3 i changed it. I dont know why I just like being able to move my cross hair around fast.

I have played Halo on 10 sensitivity since Halo:CE when i was 13, so not entirely sure.

I suspect you will notice a faster response time and easier CQC battles.Though it will take about a week of playing at least a few hours a day for your memory muscle to adjust, so reflexes can take over in a dire situation. You will notice that you will barely have to move the joystick to look around. The difficulty of aiming would change a little bit at very long ranges, so expect that until you get fully used to it.

My advice is to go to 8, but that is just me.The key to getting used to a sensitivity is just sticking with it regardless if you are having a hard time with it.Overtime, your brain will memorize how much pressure is needed to make your reticule move to a spot on the screen if you sit in the same position every time you play.Hence why people say FPS games require good eye to hand coordination and reflexes, also known commonly as “skill”.

In short go to a new sensitivity and play a lot.

2 or 3 is good enough. Why mess with it changing so much.

Honestly it may be your gamepad too. Older ones for me I have to set it lower since the stick moves and wobbles to easy. May want to think on that. Might be the fix you need.

Alright, I’m going to sens 8. I’ve been changing my sensitivity every week since Halo: Reach. If I’ve chosen a sensitivty and stuck with it, I would probably be going to events, right now. But anyway, I love how you used the science of the brain and its capabilities to answer the question.

For the gamers who ask “why do you need a high sensitivity?”. here’s the answer. I have a lot of games when someone is camping around corners waiting for someone to walk by and assassinate them. I’m the type of gamer that looks at his radar more than the game. So if I see a red dot on my radar, I can turn around fast enough to get a fair 1v1 shootout, instead of turning around slowly letting him get the first shot, knowing that I’m gonna lose.

Edit: This is how I did in my first game using sens 8: https://app.halowaypoint.com/en-us/Halo4/B%20NeXuS%20R/wargames/match-19f8f7d688f8a562
