About Red & blue and thruster abolition

<span;>Wasn’t red & blue an important element in halo’s gameplay that wasn’t changed by the belief of “playability first and foremost”? Wasn’t it HALO’s identity that shouldn’t be changed?
<span;> After all, infinite enemies and allies are very difficult to distinguish. Will the one and only FPS that can be intuitively judged by the red and blue reflected in the field of view disappear?
<span;> And the Halo multi completed by the thruster is gone. Intuitive emergency avoidance, that feeling that you do with your skin instead of your brain, and grappling hooks don’t feel like a substitute. What do you think, guys?<!–/data/user/0/com.samsung.android.app.notes/files/clipdata/clipdata_bodytext_210808_200218_933.sdocx–>

Telling teams apart isn’t difficult with the outlines. Red outline with no name over it is easy to tell as an enemy and Can be customized as you please.

The bigger issue with outlines as-is is that it’s hard to tell shield level. Shields being the same color as the outline makes it very difficult to tell sometimes if their shields popped or not, and overshield as well blends too well with the default shield colors+coating potentially. there needs to be separate options for coloring shields and outlines (and of course the ability to toggle off outlines).

As for thruster, it was a decent ability but to wouldn’t fit with infinite’s half- return to classic imo. It’s still likely to return as equipment to fit infinite’s sandbox. Thankfully we have faster strafe speed now to make up for the loss of thruster.

This thread already exists in multiple forms im sure there’s anything new left to say on this topic and its just time to accept infinites direction.

Thrusters are coming back in the form of map piuck ups, so they are in infinite, just not as base player traits which is a good thing
You can innovate more through sandbox than you can through BPT

As far as the red v blue, as been stated the only real downside is that its hard to tell when sheilds pop, but near the end of it I switched it up so my enemies had yellow outlines and I found that helped me see the sheild pop much better
test it in the next flighting if you’d like

RvB was great for it’s time however I’m glad they are changing it. It creates much more customization and expression. Thrusters as a Spartan Ability was horrible for Halo to begin with. Did it make a good multiplayer game? Yes, however not a good Halo experience. Map pick ups should be where you get your abilities from now on to increase the sandbox experience.
