What do you guys think about the Chiefs new armor? I think the body and shoulders look really nice, but the helmet not so much. The helmet isnt that bad, but I would like it if the made the top part a lil less bulky and the visor larger like the Mk. V and Mk. VI, the new armor looks more like Mk. IV from Halo wars and the cover of the Fall of Reach (I think). So what do you think?

I think it looks perfect, just like everything else we have seen.
At first I didn’t like the new armour, but once I seen screen shots I liked it. Only thing I want from that armour now is an explanation, why does it look different? I don’t want something stupid like it changed for the sake of a new development company, even if it is still Mk. VI there can still be a perfectly reasonable explanation.

That doesn’t make any sense. What do you mean she “made” the armour? How the hell could she make the armour? I’m thinking maybe its another Mk. VI variant that has similar purposes as his old one. Or maybe it will turn out to be Mk. VII.
They have half a ship, Im sure that a ship that size probably would be able to repair old armor or generate new armor, Cortana likely spent the time John was asleep creating new armor that has new capabilities, like larger battery life, adaptability, shields, and armor abilities to name a few possibilities.
My only complaint about the armor is it’s going to suck to play campaign as a Spartan II and then be a Spartan IV in multiplayer. Completely different…
It looks a lot more functions and the armor components look more integrated into the over all suit than before (if that makes sense).

Still not a fan of the shoulder, abdomen or finger armor, the rest is growing on me though.

In Halo: Glasslands page 213 someone says the armor is made of nanotechnology that can repair and upgrade itself.
I am starting to like it. When I first saw the trailer? for the game, I didn’t like it but after seeing it a lot its starting to grow on me and look a lot better. I just don’t like the new Mk.VII Armor that the spartan IV’s have… I’m not sure why it just sort of reminds me of the hayabussa helmet which I never cared for.

Cortana updated the firmware, giving him a new HUD. The armor is an artistic change, as he still has the scrape across his torso. The reason he has a BR though is either A. Placeholder for AR, or B. Grabs a BR somewhere on the ship instead of his old gun.
is that true? if it is thats… wierd, because i dont see how armor can upgrade itself
Im sure its just an assumption made by someone, like a rumor, they probably dont know to much about the armor. My first idea made sense, imagine little robot arms with suction cups and welders inside the cyro, upgrading and repairing the armor.
I think it’s kind of a bad idea that 343i changed master chiefs armor they should have upgraded it in the story so it would be like a direct change. his armor looks more like the ones in halo reach instead of the casual master chief armor.
I love his new armour!
It looks brilliant. I really like 343i design. It makes more sense, if you look at it closely it is clear it allows for a greater range of movement while still providing the same amount of protection.

Chief’s armour is the same armour he wore in Halo 3.
