I am posting this in Halo Wars 2 since this is an item that comes included with it.
So I am aware of Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition includes Halo Wars: Definitive Edition meant for the Xbox One and Win 10, and I understand how usually these are just graphic improvements and other aesthetic changes, but I was wondering if it could also support a higher population count as well. I know that it sounds game breaking, but I could see it as also creating new dynamics between leaders and teams, and it wouldn’t need to be across the whole game. It could just be for one playlist or something. Usually population counts are designed around technical limitations and not gameplay ones since usually if you increase all of them equally (percentage wise) then it doesn’t actually create some new disadvantage for certain leaders. Halo Wars wasn’t really graphically intensive (more CPU intensive) so I can’t see why it wouldn’t be possible especially since the engine was capable of handling up to 99 units per player (deathmatch).
Would be fun, I’m sure the remake will have other improvements like this aside from graphical ones.

No one really knows yet since no details have been released. They could make more changes but definitive editions or remasters usually are more about aesthetics and maybe some menu changes, I’d be surprised if they changed anything about the game itself.
we will have to wait and see but im am sure there will be improvments
It be nice if they patched the Y button exploit where you could canny glitch and rpg glitch etc by spamming Y.
Cannister shell in the original game was already powerful but a anders playing cryo bombing 13 wraiths and cannister shelling them all with 10 seconds is broken.
They fix that and I am happy, also adding skins and more levels be nice.
Halo Wars Def. edition is going to be a remaster. A remaster. Nothing will be added except graphical improvements and fixes.

Yeah it would be betraying the original game I say. Look at how other Halo remasters have been done they have had option of switching between different version old or new that be something we may see in the game but other than that it is just what YearlongAlarm96 said.
I don’t think they’ll be touching the game itself; far too risky.
